There are many threaded holes in the fender which you can use to secure the ballast boxes with a screw/bolt and also use the cable tie to prevent them from moving. Whatever you do, don't let any water come near the ballast boxes (car wash...etc), as the wiring will almost certainly short-circuit and cause one or both of the ballast boxes to stop working (happened to me twice when I had the T30).nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Thu, 13 Mar 2014 20:57:37 +0000 Re: T31 (Series 3, 4 and 5) Headlightshttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2081559,from=rss#post2081559https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2081559,from=rss#post2081559Anyone had their aftermarket HID kit installed in Series 3 of T31 lately ? Finally got around to it this weekend. Once removed, easy to see how the clips work. Hardest part was disconnecting the inlet pipe from what looks like the aircleaner/filter houseing near the firewall. Other than that, quick easy job to replacy the high beam globes with the new Phillips X-Treme Vision globes. Definitely seems to be an improvement over the standard globes. Was disappointed that, for the money, the Xtrail didn't come with bi-xenon. Dealer of course said "yeah, they're xenon headlights". Nissan sales literature doesn't say "halogen high, xenon low", just "Xenon headlights" - all a bit disingenuous. So, overall high beam now improved, not as strong as good driving lights, but adequatenondisclosed_email@example.com (SenorHondo)Tue, 06 Aug 2013 13:31:39 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2075844,from=rss#post2075844https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2075844,from=rss#post2075844Just grab a hammer and give it a coupel of bangs and you will have access to everything LOL Just kidding of course Grab a flat head screwdriver and remove the clips of the air intake and then just unclip it from its place. In projectors it's low risk in projectors. Just keep the headlight clean so the beam doesn't ever scatter. I had factory HIDs in my last car and it had a manual leveling button which I never touched, just left them in the highest position. nondisclosed_email@example.com (bigwilliestyles)Mon, 27 May 2013 22:47:59 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2074096,from=rss#post2074096https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2074096,from=rss#post2074096Caution: HIDs are illegal unless they are in a projector lens AND have a self levelling system AND have washers.
