T31 (Series 3, 4 and 5) Headlights
Hi Guys,
Those of you with a T31 Series 3, 4 and 5 (Ti and TL) models that has the HID headlights might want to know the bulb specifications.
The Bulb is 35W D2S and the colour temperature is 4,300K (Kelvin)
The cost to replace one bulb is around $60.00 bucks (eBay price)
The negative terminal MUST be disconnected when replacing the HID bulb. There is a serious risk of the gas discharge box getting damaged if you don't disconnect the negative terminal.
You don't wanna know how much it costs to replace the gas discharge box

Re: T31 (Series 3 & 4) Headlights
Hi Guys,
I looked at Ray's Series 3 T31 exy closely and it has been confirmed that the Series 3 headlights do indeed have a bulb in the strip surrounding the turning signal that lights-up with the parkers.
The bulb is a T10 type and the colour is yellowish, which doesn't suit the top of the range model that comes fitted with HIDs from the factory that are bright white.
I reckon if you guys change this bulb to a T10 LED in bright white, it would look awesome.
Post pics of your modified headlights for the Series 3 here if you do that.

Re: T31 (Series 3 & 4) Headlights
Posted by DitaX - Moved from another thread
===============================
I ordered 10 T10 LED bulbs for $2.40 on eBay for the 4 parker globes (2 each side), so I guess if they blow, it wasn't an expensive mistake.
The low beam is a H11 globe I found out today, so now I have to return the H4 fatboys to ARB and look at getting some Philips 4300k bright white globes to get that white look.
Anyone know the best place to get them from before Friday around Sydney? I'm heading to QLD and would feel safer having some brighter headlights than the standard issue yellow H11's that are pretty average.
So I have now updated the Series IV headlights and parkers. I used the Phillips 4300k H11 globes for the main beam, and some t
T10 LED super white globes for the parkers, which look great with the blue hue on the lens of the parker strip.
This is before the main beam and parker upgrade:
Then after the main beam upgrade:
I got the two free blue philips parker globes in while waiting for my LED's, and they are much brighter and less yellow than the OEM, these philips ones were a great improvement:
DON'T go for the Narva Super white/blue globes - That was a $15 mistake and they are no better than the OEM yellowish globes - useless!
Now with the new LED parker globes (Sorry she is filthy at the front but QLD road trip was worth it, and when I got home and found my globes, I couldn't wait )
Now for some rims, fogs and nudge bar and she's maturing nicely
Let me know what you think.
Cheers,
Chris

Re:
Awesome Chris, I knew the LED T10 bulbs would look awesome with that headlight strip and your photos proved it. Well done mate. The main beam also looks nice with the Phillips bulbs, almost looks like the HID and I bet it'll be much brighter than the factory halogen bulbs.

Re:
Out of curiosity decided to get a price from Nissan for the Series 3 and 4 HID headlights and they cost a bomb!!
$1,145 for EACH headlight including the HID globes and ballast and they need to be imported from Japan!!
I would be linking my headlights to a siren soon LOL

Re:
Chris has sold his xtrail already, but you can't go wrong with the Phillips bulbs as long as you are getting them locally.

Re:
Hi Kev,
Since Chris mentioned 4300K brightness colour he must have chosen the Crystal Vision Phillips bulbs, as these are the ones that come in that colour range.
You can choose the Phillips bulbs to suit you from their range HERE
