Hi All,
The time has come to arrange the largest Australian X-Trail Forum meet-up between NSW and QLD members of the forum.
The 2 States proved to be very active in exploring the limits of their X-TRAILs on and off-road, so there is no better way to continue this tradition than to have the 2 teams join forces in what could shape to be the largest X-TRAIL outing.
The invitation is extended to ALL members, their families and friends and to all visiting members from other States who will be close-by.
The event will include relaxed off-roading and will cater for all experience levels, we all take pride in our X-TRAILs and we're not on a mission to destroy any of them
New owners are quite welcome to join us, as this outing will be the perfect opportunity for you to learn about this great vehicle and hear what other members and long terms owners have to say about the exy.
We will also have other fun activities during the day (and night), so kids are quite welcome to join us.
A Forum BBQ evening/dinner will also be organized with the caravan park.
The event is taking place in a central location between NSW and QLD to make it easier for everyone to make it on the day.

Re:
Yeah Scot, Woolgoola is only about 26kms from Coffs Harbour, so it's definitely a good spot for a meet-up and most of the activities can be arranged around Coffs anyway.
OK, so which month or month/s do we have on the table now?
* September (weather is the in 20s degrees but not a good time for a swim)?
* October (starting to heat-up, so can be more eventful)?
* November (bring on the thongs and swimmers)?
Keep in mind that November may not be the best option as most families will be getting ready for the Xmas and New Year activities and holiday trips, so it might be a bit too close to all of the hustle and bustle.

Re:
October would be a good starting point I think and Woolgoolga has some wicked tracks that we know of and people of all levels can have a ball and there might be beach access for cars as well!
So many options to think about at this point!

Re: QLD & NSW Meet up late 2011
Hey Scot and Jalal,
If you are looking for somewhere about 1/2-way Syd/Bris then how about South West Rocks.
It is on the coast, has the Trial Bay Jail tourist attraction, fishing, golf, plenty of picnic areas and Kempsey is only 30 mins away.
Anything we organise would have to be atleast a long weekend so that we get a day between drive days.
How about we look at term3/4 school holidays ?
When are they for Brisbane Scot ?

Re:
I reckon the 2nd week of October (week starting 3/10) would be a good option and it will be the end of the NSW school holidays as well and we can plan to spend there 2 nights at least as a group.
Arrive there late Friday afternoon (or some can choose to arrive early on Friday), spend the entire Saturday having fun and part of Sunday as well and head back home on Sunday evening.
We can probably look at a caravan park accommodation, so those of you who want to camp can do so and be close to others in cabins.

Term 3 break: Saturday 17 September - Sunday 2 October
So you know of 4WD tracks in the area Kev at South west rocks as when I was there looking around apart from the Goal there was not much else in the way of off roading!

Re:
Hi Kev,
Sth West Rocks is a bit closer to Sydney-siders and it is an awesome destination indeed. Am not sure about tracks in that area, but plenty of water acitivities and picnic areas around for sure.
The NSW school holidays start on 26/9 and finish on Friday 7/10, so I thought we could beat the school holiday rush and go there right at the end of the school holidays that last weekend before they go back to school.
Having said that, the QLD school terms might be against us, as they go back to school on 3/10 and their Term 3 school holiday is between 17/9 and 3/10

Re:
I can understand doing something in the school holidays but accommodation wise it will be peak season and very hard to get anything in this area!
From the 9th of October is pretty free and this is the place we stay at and can recommend them as they have allowed us to check in at 11:30 at night into a cabin by prior arrangement!

Re: QLD & NSW Meet up late 2011
Hey all,
Sounds a great trip. However, Sonja and I will only just be getting back from Europe the last weekend of September, and I have a previous booking for the weekend of 8 October, so that would pretty much put us out..
We will keep watching the thread though..
