I have been sidetracked again by the loss of my father in law a couple of weeks ago. The in laws have been good to me and the old fella was a typical old school gentleman. R.I.P dad. Anyway life goes on and back to the car, thanks Mark i will check out the new page tomorrow while our son is at school (the mrs is staying with mum atm). Unfortunately today when having my tyres rotated, brake, steering, etc inspection the boys discovered that one of my front struts is starting to leak, the front lower control arms are worn and will need replacement soon, also one of my rear shocks is starting to leak. My priority now is the dam shocks, struts and control arms. My local Jax Tyre centre has quoted me, $595 for the front struts, $385 for the rear and $450-$500 for the control arms I have been going there exclusively for tyres, suspension, etc but i don't think i will be accepting this quote :P I have found Monroe Magnum Gas shocks and struts $245 for the front and $285 for the rear elsewhere. I realize Jax would include fitting but surely fitting won't cost me $450 to have new shocks fitted. I could confidently change the rear shocks but i've never touched a "strut" before. I will get back to the Eclipse unit well into the new year now i think, dam shocks and santa claus. Have a good one cheers and thanks for the help mate, much appreciated Scottynondisclosed_email@example.com (MACAW)Wed, 02 Dec 2015 16:41:08 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2089668,from=rss#post2089668https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2089668,from=rss#post2089668Scotty, This just in... Take a look at this webpage...http://www.eclipse-web.com/au/support/update/mapupdate/avn726ea/ It now points to a new website called www.navigation.com. Input your vehicle brand, model, year etc and it comes up with a package update that includes a CD to update the firmware and a map update on an SD card, all for $199. Over to you mate, but if you really want the update this might be the way to do it. Hope this helps. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Exywarrior)Mon, 16 Nov 2015 19:23:46 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2089667,from=rss#post2089667https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2089667,from=rss#post2089667Sorry I haven't replied Scotty, been caught up with work the last several weeks. I even started from scratch a few times clearing my SD card, redownloading and reinstalling the "Toolbox" and "Synctool". I downloaded both programmes then extracted the download and installed on the SD card. I followed the downloadable PDF instructions but when i insert the SD card Press the Navi button, then >Menu, > Settings, >About, >Update nothing happens when i touch update ??? This is the instructions i followed http://www.eclipse-web.com/au/avn726ea_mapupdates/download_file/step02.pdf I am getting a little frustrated with this, pretty close to just letting my B&G Macaws chomp on this dam eclipse crap Cheers, Scottynondisclosed_email@example.com (MACAW)Mon, 12 Oct 2015 16:35:25 +0000 Re: T31 Series 3 & 4 Eclipse Head Unithttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2089180,from=rss#post2089180https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2089180,from=rss#post2089180Hi ya Mark, Thanks again brother. I will have another crack at it soon. The SD card i have doesn't say SD HC so i am guessing if it was SD HC it would say that on the card ??? I been distracted from the car due to a friend of mine sticking her fingers into a running lawn mower. Only for me being there when it happened and the only one who did not freak out is she lucky to have her fingers saved. I still have not gotten a thank you Not that i need it but just a little appreciation goes a hell of a long way with me. Silly question, I hope...Have you downloaded the system's files onto the card? the toolbox won't recognise the device unless the nav system's files have been downloaded onto the device and it more or less imitates the "device" when plugged into the toolbox. Start with this webpage here - http://www.eclipse-web.com/au/avn726ea_mapupdates/step01.html The second update page HERE is the more important step as it downloads the nav system's files onto the SD card. This must be followed or the whole thing won't work. Keep plugging away buddy - we'll get you there. I just can't get the software to run properly. When i open "Toolbox" in the left top corner it keeps saying "Device not connected", I can't sign in etc. I have closed the program, unplugged the reader and restarted a few times but the dam thing just won't recognize or connect. I can only start guessing now, process of elimination. Do i need a "special type of SD card" ??? I have a 2GB "Pro Master, Secure Digital" SD card and the reader is an "AMICROE" brand, multi card 2.0 & 3.0 compatible. Evening Jalal, Yes i agree the outdated maps do the job BUT, travel on new roads, go out to Gregory Hills, Oran Park or travel up the highway past Coffs or down through Canberra where it is all new, this outdated map keeps telling you to "return to the highway", at Oran Park it tries to make me go back to the Northern Rd and the screen shows "green" that i am in the middle of what used to be bush when i am on "Peter Brock Drive". In the city the dam thing told me to go left into a "3 lane one way street" luckily i hesitated when i saw headlights coming at me in the left lane I have even checked into consumer law which only requires parts, updates, etc, etc, etc for 7yrs after manufacture, these units are 2009 models and this year makes them obsolete as far as parts, etc. Ah well another 6 months i will be in a greatly better position financially so i will probably pull this head unit out put it in a box, excrete on top of it and send the dam thing back to Fujitsu On the other hand i will restore my GTR XU1, the legendary Bathurst giant killer I much prefer to drive my Torry with no BS computers, EGR, system management, DPF filters, not built by cross eyed, chop stick fed, retards that fantasize about acrobatic flying cars that drive them selves. My XU1 can be repaired on the side of the road with base knowledge and maybe some fencing wire to get home and IF on the rare occasion i plant the pedal i know she will light up all 4 gears with 11.5" Yokahama tyres on the rear !!! Don't get me wrong i like Nissans from the early 1976 GT (first Nissan that got me) through the R series 31,32,33,34 nearly as much as my XU1 but all this techno BS is wallet draining and mostly unnecessary in ALL new cars. Then again i may just be stuck in the caveman era, drive around in my XU1 with my club hangin out the window uggg uggg Cheers all, hope ya's get a giggle Scottynondisclosed_email@example.com (MACAW)Tue, 08 Sep 2015 19:42:18 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2089017,from=rss#post2089017https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2089017,from=rss#post2089017I think am still using the 2010 maps in mine and am still happy with them. Yes i spent hours reading this thread Checked the map version and i have the old 2009 crap, the original owner must have had no idea or didn't care. I had a spare 8GB SD card and reader so thought i would follow the guide from all who have contributed on this "Update by SD card" method. I must be doing something wrong but it seems a complex and frustrating process I have tried extracting and installing the "Toolbox" on both my PC and the SD card. "Toolbox" opens but gives me limited options and keeps telling me "Device not connected" The option of throwing the Eclipse unit in the bin is not an option at present purely due to cash flow and pending spine surgery. I would much rather do an SD card update if possible. Some help with this would be greatly appreciated and a solution rewarded with ales You could also get to see our 2 trained, talking, blue and gold macaws. I found that I could not do this on the new laptop, so used the old laptop with Vista. Finally got it to work and was able to purchase the maps. All I can say, it's one hell of a complicated process indeed. Are you sure it gave you an Australian 2012 Map? You can actually check the map version by clicking on "Device" in the Naviextras Toolbox and then selecting "more" from the bottom of the screen. Here is what mine shows: They are using some information dating back to 2006!!!nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Sun, 03 Jun 2012 13:38:08 +0000 Re: Eclipse AVN726EA Updateshttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2062989,from=rss#post2062989https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2062989,from=rss#post2062989Hey Awesim, I note that your Eclipse head unit is at 2010Q3. I bought my TL about three months before you and it was at the same update. Just a couple of days ago though, I was able to go through the online update system for the Eclipse unit (AVN726EA) and I've updated it to the 2012Q1 maps for free. It was called the "Map Guarantee" or something. You need the 2Gb SD memory stick and the two programs (NaviExtras Toolbox and SyncTool) but the update worked exactly as they say in the website. In the end the hardest part was finding the link to the synctool software because it isn't where they say it is. It's at https://eclipse.naviextras.com/shop/portal/downloads Hope this stuff helps for you and anyone else with the Eclipse unit. Also, what you mentioned about the inability to send contacts across to the Eclipse from the phone and that is a common problem as not many phones are compatible. I have a Blackberry for example it it is not compatible. However you can send the contacts as "Business Cards" via Bluetooth to the Eclipse and that seems to work.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Exywarrior)Sun, 03 Jun 2012 13:07:38 +0000
