My NEW Red Bull (I got my wings)
Hi Guys,
The decision has been made today with the green light given by my wife to upgrade to a T31 Exy (Series 4), by doing that I will remain very much as part of this great community and continue my xtrail quest and passion for many years to come
While at the dealership last weekend checking out the new T31 and negotiating with the salesman, there was a family checking out cars in the yard as well, all of a sudden we hear their 10 year old son screaming to his father saying "Dad!!! I want you to buy THIS one, this is the best car here!!!" He was pointing at the chrome beast
So even in her last days with me, the chrome exy never ceased to amaze me and give me the feeling of pride and it is indeed an awesome car and the very best vehicle I have ever owned!
The chrome beast will most likely remain with me until June, as this is when my brand spanking new T31 Series 4 in Burning Red will arrive from Japan as a special order. The built date will be May 2011 of my next exy.
I am now also in a position to disclose that it will be a T31 2.5 PETROL CVT Ti Series 4 version, as I couldn't justify paying extra for a diesel and I don't think it suits our needs being a city car and not towing anything heavy.
The decision to buy a Ti (which I obviously can't afford) has come after a direct offer of support from Dan Thompson (Nissan Australia CEO) who contacted me offering his personal support and as reward and recognition for supporting the Nissan and X-Trail brand through the 8 years I have been running this forum.
I was quite chuffed by the "substantial discount" offer to be honest and it proved to me that Nissan Australia does take our forum and its members quite seriously and know the value of the information we share with existing and new xtrail owners.
I was considering an ST-L variant but the dealer called me today saying that I might as well get the top of the range Ti since Nissan Australia is making such a huge concession.
I couldn't refuse that of course
I have asked about the possibility of including the hyper roof rails as factory option while the car is being assembled in Japan and was told that while it is possible to do so, having the car go through compliance in Australia may prove to be a nightmare due to this variation and the compliance may end up costing me much more than having these hyper rails fitted as an after-market option, which is what I intend to do anyway.
So, what's next you ask?
I have a loooooong 3 months wait until my Red Bull is manufactured in May 2011 and makes its way Down Under and am sure I'll be counting every minute of it
THANKS NISSAN AUSTRALIA!!

Re:
huge congrats Jalal.
Can wait for the first exy cruise with you in the T31 to see if anyone says the T30 are still better than the T31's....for some reason I think that the T30's will keep quiet this time

Re:
Good to hear Jalal,
I new it was only a matter of time till you upgraded.
The Lambo bull will look good on the front of the red Xy.
Will have to have a meet up or go bush bashing (kidding) to check it out and oficially welcome the Red Bull.
Maybe we can welcome it to the forum by weeing on the tyres.
It works for dogs.

Sounds like a plan mate. I can only imagine a long convoy of xtrail owners waiting for their turn to piss on my tyres as a blessing and passers by wondering what the hell is going on

Re:
Received confirmation from Nissan Australia today that my Red Bull will be manufactured in May (next month) and that Nissan Japan have enough parts to complete the May production orders as planned.
I can't wait to get it now..... 8 weeks to go!

Re:
It's official
After my meeting with Nissan Australia head-office today, we looked at the system of all T31's coming into Australia off the production line and my Red Bull will be The FIRST and only Red 4x4 T31 Ti in NSW in that shipment
There are 2 going to QLD and 1 going to VIC in the same shipment, so whoever gets it in VIC can also claim the 1st spot of having the first Red T31 Ti Series 4. The 2 QLD owners would have to fight over the title a bit LOL
Nissan Australia will request Japan to send us a video showing how the T31 is being produced and assembled (not mine obviously, cause it's a bit too late for that), but it will be an interesting video to watch for sure!
