I guess you couldn't appreciate the absolute devastation and disruption to peoples lives unless you went through it - and the absolute grief of those who have lost loved ones to the floods. On a lighter note a well deserved win - a great forum not only needs a dedicated community of members but also great organisation and leadership. A big thank you from me personally to everyone who helps to make this forum the great success it is. The 2nd place scored 37 votes and the 3rd place scored 26 votes. Details of the Runboard official announcement can be found HERE We have won this title previously in 2008 and I reckon we're the only board who has won the Board of The Year title twice I would like to dedicate this win to all members of QLD (Queensland) and Northern NSW (New South Wales) and their families and friends who were greatly affected by the recent floods disaster. Members from these 2 states went and are still going through tough times, but despite of this tragedy taking place around the same time this voting competition has started, they jumped on board and helped their favorite community by taking a time to vote and make a difference. I salute you guys for your sense of mate-ship and team-work. I would also like to thank the many other members and those international xtrail owners who have voted for us and responded to my emails asking for their help. Much appreciated indeed. I am sorry to have bombarded you with so many emails, but it worked and we can now proudly display the Board of The Year logo on our forum and loudly say: The Aussies have done it again! Our total vote count is still a bit short compared to the previous voting competitions where we managed to score at least 72 votes, so we shouldn't be celebrating just yet, as it is still a close call. If you know of any member that hasn't voted as yet, please pass the word and it doesn't hurt to ask the question if they have voted as yet. I would like to thank all those who took the time to show support for the forum, especially our international xtrailers and more so members from QLD and Northern NSW, who despite the tragedy and dealing with floods still took the time to show their solidarity and support for their favorite forum and community. I have provided a link in all emails to Runboard voting thread. In any case, looks like it's working as the voting count has started to move in the right direction Dev: Your vote is still missing though nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Wed, 12 Jan 2011 20:21:31 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2049110,from=rss#post2049110https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2049110,from=rss#post2049110I saw the new email and it should be more clear to the members, I did not have a problem myself as I was involved last year. What I was alluding to was that people may have confused it with the regular voting system, made a vote in there and not posted that they had made a vote due to pressure of work etc, in this case you would not have been alerted to the fact that they had voted in the wrong area. I was not implying any criticism, was busy trying to deal with other issues when I made the earlier post. The new email and the other measures you have implemented within the forum should clear up any remaining confusion. Now we just need some more of the members to follow through and make some valid votes and your forum can be recognised by others for what we know it is, "Australian X-Trail Forum Rocks!" nondisclosed_email@example.com (BarneyB)Wed, 12 Jan 2011 18:50:53 +0000 Re: count my votehttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2049109,from=rss#post2049109https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2049109,from=rss#post2049109quote:devakumar wrote: Please count my vote for X-trail forum please guide me how I complete my voting formalities thanking you DEV Dev, You have submitted a post in the voting thread HERE supporting our forum, which is the first step needed to be able to vote. Possibly several members have miss read your email and made a regular vote without bothering to post in here. Just an idea. Barney, Posting here is not as important and not a requirement for voting. However posting in the poll thread on the Runboard Directory board where the competition is taking place is important for first time voters who haven't voted or taken part in the previous board of the year voting competitions. The most important part of this voting for new users (and existing ones) is that the voting button MUST be pressed after selecting our forum from the list for the vote to be counted, otherwise it is a wasted vote which wasn't submitted. I have asked Rick (from the Runboard Directory) who is organising this voting competition to spell it out a bit more clearer in the voting thread, as chances are our forum is not the only forum missing out on votes. By the looks of the vote count for other boards, many users are not understanding clearly what needs to be done.nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Wed, 12 Jan 2011 17:59:53 +0000 Re: count my votehttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2049107,from=rss#post2049107https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2049107,from=rss#post2049107Please count my vote for X-trail forum please guide me how I complete my voting formalities thanking you DEVnondisclosed_email@example.com (devakumar)Wed, 12 Jan 2011 17:47:44 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2049106,from=rss#post2049106https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2049106,from=rss#post2049106Maybe another emailing to the members may clarify how this works and that it is not the regular vote that is required.
