Do Xtreme versions have suspension mods?

Hey Guys,

Something has been puzzling me for a while and really came to notice on our recent Forum trip to the Turon valley. I've got a T30 STS, but the Xtreme version. Can any of you gurus tell me if Nissan did a suspension mod for these limited editions?

I've noticed in some comparo photos (see below) that mine sits higher than other ST T30s...

And when you compare to a T30 with a lift kit (see below ) it's not that much lower.

I've owned this car from new and have done nothing to the lift. Wheels and tyre profiles are also the same. It's a manual, do they sit higher?

Jalal... or others... any ideas?

Nah Dave,

The suspension on all T30 models is exactly the same. The pics you took of your exy compared to others gave you that impression because either the other xtrails didn't have a spoiler or the sun-guard, or because they used different size tyres to those fitted by Nissan.

Re: Do Xtreme versions have suspension mods?

Thanks Jalal.

It just seems that the gap between the top of the tyres and the edge of the guard on mine seems similar to those with a lift (if not quite as high). Different wheel and tyre combos over time would cause that to happen.

I guess it could also be the angle of the photos, how loaded each car was, and the lay of the land on which they sit.

Everyone that seems mine says it had been lowered, due to all of the accessories I have on it and the wide 18" tyres, but I haven't touched my suspension at all emoticon

Re:

Well, this is news to me Taylor emoticon

Please give us the part number for the 2 different shocks if you are able to get them and we'll find out. My understanding was all T30 shocks are the same and Nissan haven't advertised the fact of using different shocks on the STS Xtreme nor did they mention a different ground clearance on them.

Re:

hahaha. well APPARENTLY the stickers on the shocks show different manufactors. they are pretty much identical but with slight differences for the strut insert. im not sure if this is a series 1 series 2 thing or if its an xtreme thing? perhaps the shocks have a different amount of travel or are stiffer? il try look into it
