Re: T31 Keys

Hi Dave,
The one that I saw at Supercheap actually said on the box you create your own pin. If there is a reverse/alternative code that you can enter I don't know. I guess you can always start from zero and work your way up till it opens!

Re: T31 Keys

g'day all i've been following this post for info for T31 keys and today i got a key cut for the T31 purchased last month, no trouble at a mister minute bar at the shopping centre, cost. $8.45 .As a surfer i've used the method of the plain key around my neck on a chain for years with other 4x4s with the remote locked in the car. hope this helps. Re: T31 Keys

Thanks everyone for the suggestions, I'll try to find a key-cutter who can do the same for me - the transponder key won't take scuba diving too well!

Re: T31 Keys

Are you really using the correct terminology here?

I think a transponder is a small, potentially waterproof electronic thingy without a battery.

I have made a surfing key for a Ford a few years ago, including the transponder, it worked fine.

The remote door locking/unlocking mechanism in the keys require a battery and cannot be waterproofed easily.

So, I think it should be possible to get a transponder key that unlocks the door mechanically and starts the car, and is water proof.

I have just bought a T31 and it only came with 1 key. If I could have a transponder only key cut I would be happy to use it as my spare and take it surfing as well. Has anyone done this yet? Does it sound like a viable alternative to a remote key to you guys?
