Re: Sunny Corner Via Pinnacle Fire Trail 2nd October 2010

Ok, its just after 5pm. The BOM report has changed slightly, now saying possible thunder in the afternoon rather than the morning, by the afternoon we will have probably completed the trip.
As we all still seem keen to go I suggest we meet up as planned & bring any relevant books/maps of the area, so if the weather is unkind to us we can still do something in the area, there is the Bridle track, Hil End Sofala, other parts of the Turon etc.

Re: Sunny Corner Via Pinnacle Fire Trail 2nd October 2010

Guys, the forecast isn't promising. For the Central Tablelands, it's been upgraded to scattered showers and scattered thunderstorms (which is the Bureau's closest forecast to out and out rain). Totals up to 25mm are possible and at least 90% chance of 5-10mm. Storms with even heavier falls are possible. It could be OK, but it could also be really hairy.

I'm torn between wanting to go on some new tracks - and driving for 3 hours only to then turn around and head home again.

OK...Chris we obviously crossed messages then. It looks like we are still go!! There are certainly some easier tracks up around the Turon region.

See ya at 9:45!!

Any day out is better than sitting at home.
The BOM normally state "rain" if is going to be a high chance of wet weather most of the day. Showers is usually light falls or short duration.
Car is being packed.
See you there emoticon

Have fun guys, wish I was going.
'BOM' is not usually that acurate, especially the radar map which is about 6 hours late.
Try 'Weatherzone', I have found it to be about 90% acurate and the radar is within 1 hour.

Perfect day Tony.
Warm and sunny most of the day.
The slight chill came over as the clouds rolled in about 3pm when we were mostly on our way back out.
Thanks Chris for leading us around.
We should start posting a report and pics tomorrow or later tonight if someone is keen emoticon
