Sorry about that, a few days after the bite, Phillipa noticed that Preston, the dog that bit her didn't seem to be to well so off to the vet and he had a fair bit of damage around his left ear that needed draining and a couple of stitches. Max, our other dog has been told the cost of the vet treatment will be coming out of his bone money, but he'll need to live another 50 years to pay off that debt. The wounds on Phillipa's leg continue to heal but its quite a shock to see how much damage was done. 2-1/2 weeks in South Africa at Christmas should help take her mind off things though, especially the week in Kruger National Park. There hasn't been a repeat of the fighting so that's a good sign and Preston still thinks he can stop the rain by standing in the middle of the yard and barking at the clouds. nondisclosed_email@example.com (rescue1)Tue, 16 Nov 2010 05:25:11 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2047857,from=rss#post2047857https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2047857,from=rss#post2047857Alan you didn't give us an update on how Phillipa is going?nondisclosed_email@example.com (Mr Xtrail)Mon, 15 Nov 2010 14:17:29 +0000 Re: Off to South Africahttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2047778,from=rss#post2047778https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2047778,from=rss#post2047778Well I've been back a week and apart from visiting my Mum in hospital (hell of a way to celebrate your 75th birthday) haven't done too much. 1 more week to go then its back over there until 18th February next year and hopefully a longer break.... Mine are both male and desexed. They religiously stand at the lounge window waiting for the dog up the road to walk past, sending them into a frenzy and often snapping at each other to run to the fence and be guard dogs. I just stand back until they settle as im no Cesar Milan and cant separate them. I do yell "who wants a ride in the Exy" which gets them to snap out of the aggression.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Rooboy)Fri, 22 Oct 2010 21:28:37 +0000 Re: Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2047182,from=rss#post2047182https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2047182,from=rss#post2047182quote:jalalski wrote: Alan, Here you go mate Tha's been on my desktop for the past 10 weeks..... nondisclosed_email@example.com (rescue1)Fri, 22 Oct 2010 20:35:38 +0000 Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2047181,from=rss#post2047181https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2047181,from=rss#post2047181Alan, Here you go mate nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Fri, 22 Oct 2010 16:33:04 +0000 Re: Re:https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2047179,from=rss#post2047179https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2047179,from=rss#post2047179quote:cooch t31 wrote: Alan, you'll be home before you know it. Our neighbour tells us that there was a dog on the loose around the time that the fight styarted so I suspect that this dog tried to have a go at my 2 through the gate and one of mine accidentally bit the other and so on. Phillipa is getting better although 2 of the bites are quite deep. The mental scars will be with her much longer. The worse news was that last night Phillipa put the dogs out at 4am for their regular loo break and they decided to have a massive fight instead, both dogs are OK but somehow Phillipa got quite badly bitten and had to go to hospital. The thing is when you call an ambulance for a dog attack you get the police too who do a report for the council ranger etcetec so we may be forced to go back to a single dog family for a while. On the good side Phillipa is OK, just somewhat shaken and will be over here for Christmas. Hope somebody organises a drive for late February I have to clear the blood of Yaris germsnondisclosed_email@example.com (rescue1)Wed, 20 Oct 2010 20:38:07 +0000
