Back from South Africa - Permanently
Well boys and girls the boss has relented (he actually ran out of people) and I'm off to South Africa for at least 3 months in a bit over a week. Hopefully it will be a much longer posting (with breaks in between each 3 month stint) so I can investigate a few vehicle options (like the cost of sea freighting an Exy from South Africa). I'll still drop in on the forum from time to time but trips will be a little difficult although Phillipa will have the choice of 2 vehicles while I'm away.

Re: Off to South Africa
Have fun Alan.
This doesn't mean that you can't still log in for a chat though.
Just don't go poking snakes and spiders thinking that an Xy has just turned into one.

Re: Off to South Africa
Take it easy over there Alan - you know you will have to stay indoors after dark, perfect time to login and do some light reading on the forum

Re: Off to South Africa
Well plan A is already out the window (buy Exy keep for 2 years bring back to OZ) as the list rice for said vehicle is the equivalent of $63,500 here, bit too much to add hyper rails to what's available here. However I have found that one of the locals I'll be working with is a Nissan nut and has already started looking for T31s at the wreckers for me.....

Re: Off to South Africa
Hey Alan,
Whilst over there see if you can source a supply and contact details of hyper rails and maybe we can get involved in a group buy.
I am sure I'm not the only one other than yourself that would like a set on the roof.

Re: Off to South Africa
Nah mate, I didn't say they were incompatible, as they can be fitted like I did with my T30 and drilled a hole in the roof for the wiring to go through, the point I made was regarding their legality seeing that Nissan didn't import any into Australia due to non-compliance with ADR (unlike the ST-R T30 which has them)
