Re: Angel Eyes
Of course Samuel, you gotta have your priorities right and find the right moment to break the news to her LOL
So many times I have hidden things in the garage for months waiting for that right moment
The cheap solution is a good alternative sometimes, but depending on how good and reliable those LED strips are (as Tony mentioned), as you don't want to be dismantling the headlight every 6 months or so to keep changing it. But Les has the right idea and it is nice to see some creativity in this regard.

Re: Angel Eyes
Hi Scot,
I can certainly ask, but why don't you wait for Les to come back with his full report when he tested his solution?

Re: Angel Eyes
Keen to see the results of the testing, I'm still trying to work out if I can get any of the LED warning lights I have in to replace the existing globe (might have to get a spare headlight from the wreckers...) but both options look good, certainly interested in a group buy if that eventuates (especially if they do "other Nissans" as well)

Or 15 seconds if, like me, you forget to also replace the tube that goes down to a large resonator, as well.
When Nissan replaced my Transmission even they neglected to replace it - and I wondered what the intake noise was, until I discovered their oversight.
I bought some generic led replacement bulbs from repco for the parkers.
I found that Blue Nava bulbs worked better due to the more spread out light pattern from the incandescant bulb; rather than the focussed pattern from the LEDs that doesn't get to the reflector very well and hence, as a safety light, can be inadequate !!!
Remember that, with these mods, you are messing with a safety aspect; and if the bulb replacement proves unreliable (home made LED constructions that may vibrate to pieces over time) or isn't as properly visible, you could be placing your safety at risk.
It is FUN though.

Re: Angel Eyes
Hey Guys (& gals)
Scot twisted my arm, it was about 5 secs to remove the intake. The left was a bit harder than the right. Anyone who has locked their keys in the car and done the coat-hanger trick will understand. So to the testing.
* visible light/impact huge. will try to get good photos for the guide!
* staying in place so far so good. ( Its 10'C here as I did the left side. I adjusted the right and found it had shrunk with the cold and wasn't as firm as I would like. Will see how it holds over the week end. Maybe just a cold climate issue)
* Ease of insertion, placement about a 5/10 just need to be paitent.
Have spoken to Jalal and will have a guide up and running here including purchase details for the strips.

Re the LED bulbs. I've seen several types most are 1 forward facing LED which dosen't reflect well. I'll add a link in the guide to some others I found which have 5 LEDs each facing outwards. These may act more like a incandescent bulb. Mine were made simply to seal the lamp Assy and remove the orange tinge of the orignal bulb and attach the strips to the 12V socket.
Cheers

Re: Angel Eyes
I use a 5 globe led in the parker and it shines fine. I am getting a set of blue ones sent for free with a recent order, may put them there or somewhere else.
When you do this Les, are you able to put the original globe mount in (say with a single led bulb) or is it not useable any more?
