Loose Drive Shaft Nuts

I took my Exy for it's first off road adventure to Rover Park near Tenterfield. I must say it performed well above my expectations even with the stock 18 inch low profile tyres. As per all the other post regarding bash plates, my plastic guard now has some serious gouges and my rims have looked better.

Anyway the reason for my post is upon my return to Brisbane I noticed a rattle at low speed (up to 50km/h) The rattle was very noticable when accelerating from a standing start. There was no noticable effect on braking/steering etc so I though it may have been mud or rocks in the sterring or suspension components. I removed my now not so new splash guard and removed 1/2 of rover parks mud. No change rattle still there.

I took my exy in for its 10,000km service and told the dealer. When I picked it up they told me the source of the rattle was that both drive shaft nuts were loose. They said it was most likely that they missed it at manufacture??.

I am hoping my off road adventure didn't cuase any damage due to the loose drive shaft. At least it has been noted on my invoice. Does anybody have nay experiences with this issue?

Re:

Adam,
glad to have come across this. what you discribed is exactly what I'm experiencing at the moment although I haven't really gone offroad yet (hugest a few dodgy dirt roads). I just had my 1k service last week and I was thinking they had forgotten to re-tighten something. I'm taking into nissan tomorrow hopefully I am having the same issue and not something more sinister.
Cheers,

Cheers jupitor. I'll mention that to the service guys too. It has happened at a real inconvenient time with me being on my road trip holiday, luckily the guys at nissan in dubbo have been really accomodating and taking a look tomorrow for me while I check out the zoo
