Re: The X-Trail

I took delivery of a K & N filter from the online shop, Thanks Jalal.

I wont get to drive with it for a couple of days but is installed already, will do an ECU reset Sunday morning and then go for a run.

Re: The X-Trail

You're welcome Matt, but there is no point in re-setting the ECU without driving with the K&N first for 2 days emoticon

Re: The X-Trail

Ive been shopping the last few weeks and will be installing these things over the next few weeks.

Firstly got my towbar and will hopefully install next week. emoticon

Secondly, today I have scored some mags, will need to obtain further funds for tyres though emoticon

Third of all I am waiting for some ebay globes to arrive for the headlights. I also got some LED strip lights for my boat and I am thinking of trying them behind the radiator protectors to see if there is a glow

Re: The X-Trail

Yesterday I had the day off so I put the tail light mod outlined by Cooch in the DIY guide. Thanks Tony for the detailed guide.

It took about 2 hours and $5.99 although I stole the globes from my boat trailer (Its getting a 12/24v led system so I dont have to change globes when the truck tows it). It really completes the taillights

Re: The X-Trail

When I fitted the wheels the other day to check all the clearances I noticed the brake calipers were going to be very visible so I painted them.

Image. Image

Color choice is limited in brake paints and I was hoping the gold would be closer to the Twilight colour but it is really gold. I will mix some silver to it and see how close I can colour match it if I dont like it when I go to do the edge of the discs and other parts. The wheels go on on thursday with tyre choice being the Sumitomo HTR Z111 235/50/ZR18 due to Sumitomo basically making all the Jap tyres on the market including all the Dunlop performance tyres and they increase the rolling diameter slightly compared to the other profiles available on 18' Rims.

Re: The X-Trail

Finally after weeks of waiting on incompetent couriers and tyres being sent to Adelaide and back I got the new rims and rubber on. Tyres ended up being the 245/45ZR18 Sumitomo HTR ZIII due to the better load rating. The tyre shop boys were very impressed with the rubber and only 5g of balance having to be put on all 4 wheels.
