Re: caster adjustment
Hi Brad,
Your intro post as well as your signature are missing your xtrail year and model.
We do have the information available on our forum, but to answer your question, we will need to know what type of xtrail you have

Re: caster adjustment
Thanks Brad,
Whenever I go to have the alignment done on my exy I take a copy of the factory wheel alignment values with me and they can be found HERE
The tyre places always try to guess the best values as per the information loaded on their system but when they use the values I give them, it always ends-up being spot on.

Re: caster adjustment
I've had 50mm strut spacers fitted and the caster was within spec and no offset bush required. If you can't get your caster adjusted to within specs then maybe you should check the full suspension geometry for some damage causing the misalignment.

Re: caster adjustment
Hey brad, Nah no one's had to go through with this before that we're aware of.
All things being equal, you shouldn't need to have it realigned at all. Go back to the place that did your alignment and ask them to inspect your geometry. Odds are something is damaged or needs replacing (like a bush or something), because installing bigger wheels shouldn't throw out the angle of your upright at all. Castor is not a function of wheels at all, its dependent on the angle of the strut and the way the control arms hold the hub and upright assembly in reference to the chassis.
My money's on a bush or linkage begin worn/damaged...
Good luck mate!
p.s. Might help to use some punctuation too mate, makes things easier to read and for us to help you out too!

Re: caster adjustment
Brad,
Firstly there is no need to use capitals as I am sure you understand it is seen as shouting to make a point and is considered rude.
Secondly, both myself and Cam have told you no-one on the forum has had to get any caster adjustment done from what we have read during our years on the forum.
Thirdly, if you run a tyre shop and you are a mechanic then you should be able to know if the caster is indeed adjustable to any extent on the Xtrail by looking at it. Then from your measurements, take the spec sheet which Jalal has given you a link to and from those be able to determine if the suspension geometry has been altered by some damage if you are unable to get those figures.
One suggestion would be to inspect the suspension of the next Xtrail you have in the shop and compare with your own.
