Modified suspension would be better. Long run from Queensland though..... There are other trips coming up in the area over the next few months although most are already booked out and all require good ground clearance and low range.nondisclosed_email@example.com (rescue1)Tue, 29 Jun 2010 08:23:53 +0000 Re: 4WD DISCOVERY EXPLORER SERIES: 'Valley Creeks & Ranges' Tag-along Tourhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2043490,from=rss#post2043490https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2043490,from=rss#post2043490Hi Guys Did this trip go ahead or have you rescheduled? How was it and is it for a standard xtrail? If you have chosen another date, let me know. Landcruiser and a Suzuki Sierra) 8 hours to do. We were truley knackered after doing it and then have to drive home. Those pics were from about 10 years ago but the last time I have done it was around 4 years ago, it wasn't wet, but the ruts were still there. It might have changed since then, but the track has been closed for a good 10 - 12 years and I doubt that a grader would have gone through. I don't think he mentioned low range for the hell of it. Ahh, them were the days......... nondisclosed_email@example.com (cooch t31)Thu, 29 Apr 2010 20:12:17 +0000 Re: 4WD DISCOVERY EXPLORER SERIES: 'Valley Creeks & Ranges' Tag-along Tourhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2042067,from=rss#post2042067https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2042067,from=rss#post2042067That's not a track that's a river bed. I'd be bush bashing up on the hard stuff and avoiding those ruts instead. With clearance I'd give it a crack hehe, but only with a tow vehicle of course. Looks like a dirty trip anyways.nondisclosed_email@example.com (AkaZulu)Thu, 29 Apr 2010 10:51:49 +0000 Re: 4WD DISCOVERY EXPLORER SERIES: 'Valley Creeks & Ranges' Tag-along Tourhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2042062,from=rss#post2042062https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2042062,from=rss#post2042062I can't see how this track can be done with an exy Alan nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Thu, 29 Apr 2010 08:09:36 +0000 Re: 4WD DISCOVERY EXPLORER SERIES: 'Valley Creeks & Ranges' Tag-along Tourhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2042059,from=rss#post2042059https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2042059,from=rss#post2042059Here are a couple of pics when I used top do this trek all the time. Obviously these were taken in the wet and the majority of the track was like this, except when we had to line up the wheels over 2 logs each side laid side by side to get over a 1 meter trench about 2 meters long. Still want to go!nondisclosed_email@example.com (cooch t31)Thu, 29 Apr 2010 06:26:11 +0000 Re: 4WD DISCOVERY EXPLORER SERIES: 'Valley Creeks & Ranges' Tag-along Tourhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2042037,from=rss#post2042037https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2042037,from=rss#post2042037This trip can be done in an X-Trail, however, it is fully booked, but they do have a waiting listnondisclosed_email@example.com (rescue1)Wed, 28 Apr 2010 14:48:12 +0000 Re: 4WD DISCOVERY EXPLORER SERIES: 'Valley Creeks & Ranges' Tag-along Tourhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2041882,from=rss#post2041882https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2041882,from=rss#post2041882Peter, I don't think the rangers would want something along which is going to get stuck. That is why so far they specify low-range required. If a vehicle gets stuck it churns up the road and they want to protect the Great North Rd, so much that they usually have it gated to stop anyone travelling along the road when they wish.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Revhead Kev)Sat, 24 Apr 2010 18:55:34 +0000 Re: 4WD DISCOVERY EXPLORER SERIES: 'Valley Creeks & Ranges' Tag-along Tourhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2041877,from=rss#post2041877https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2041877,from=rss#post2041877If this is suitable for a standard Exy we'd be interested, and being first timers gives us a good chance to do something more adventurous knowing theres a friendly hand to help us out.
