Reflective glare on instrument panel

Has anyone else noticed the excessive amount of glare reflecting back onto the instrument panel via the steering column?

Driving around these days in the blaring sun i can hardly see the dials on the instrument panel. Has anyone come up with a easy fix, as i'm thinking of cutting a peak from one of my caps and gluing it to the dashmat to try and stop the glare.

I know it sounds silly but i can't see what speed i'm doing most of the time from the glare.

Cheers.

Craig
There already is a thread regarding this.
The solution might be there.
Use the search function and it should come up.

What about using some of the anti-reflection stickon aheets used for notebook screens ?
Cheap on ebay and if you get one large enough all you need to do is cut it to the correct shape.

I did a search for both "glare and instrument panel" but cound not find what i was looking for hence my thread. I guess i'll look further.

I did find one thread on Windscreen Glare, but this is not what i'm talking about this reflection comes off the plastic on the Steering column and reflects back on the Instrumnet panel. Couldn't find anything on this. T30 drivers won't experience this as your instrument panel is in the center but i tell you what the T31 drivers surely will.

Don't worry about it Craig, I couldn't find an existing topic covering this either when I did the search, so am not sure which one was Tony referring to.

Re: Reflective glare on instrument panel

No probs.

Worked it out I've cut a piece of black carpet that i used in the boot area and placed that on top of the steering column and no more glare. Tried a piece of it extended from sitting under the the dash mat but needed it to be a bit too long and it was drooping in front of the instrument panel. So at least i have no more glare.

I do remember reading it somewhere, probably in an intro post or members ride thread.
Just another subject lost in the forum due to people changing the topic I suppose.

I can honestly say that a piece of carpet would probably annoy me more than the little sun glare that I have noticed on my dash.
