posticon The Chrome Beast Turns 7

Hi Guys,

My Chrome Beast turns 7 years old on 27/1 and I have never kept any car for that long before and no car has ever given me this awesome feeling every time I start the engine and head-out for a drive. It still feels like I bought it yesterday.

If it proves anything, it shows that Nissan have designed and built one tough machine that is meant to last for years and give you plenty of fun driving it. emoticon

For those of you new to forum, you can read all about my quest on modifying and enjoy driving my exy in THIS thread.

Project -X- lasted for the whole 5 years!!!

I really hope my next car will be as good, although I highly doubt it emoticon

Happy B'day Chrome Beasty ... etc ...

I still get the same feeling Jalal and know what ya mean about hopping into the driver's seat and smiling.

Thinking I might buy my Exy a new baby sister soon what with that nice looking TL T31 Series II currently in the shops. But no way am I getting rid of my current Exy.

Hey mate,

So, still got the chrome warrior hey ???

Glad to see it is still treating you kind and giving you the same (if not more) satisfaction it did all those years ago.

Thanks Brett and Kian emoticon

Brett, I was actually thinking about your exy this morning when our 1500th member (Adam) mentioned that he can't find a good used xtrail on the market. I reckon yours would have been the perfect exy for him. Too bad you don't have it anymore. Did you find out who scored it from the dealer?

Congratulations. I love your ride.

Xtrail sales was top of the list in South Africa for the last four years. Surely an excellent vehicle.

Thanks Dries, the SA media has already contacted our forum and highlighted the fact that the exy was a very popular choice over there but also noted that not many xtrail owners venture out in their xtrails off-road or as a group, so they wrote a review about the xtrail and showed SA xtrail owners our forum for encouragement emoticon

That is a fact. The Xtrail is more often used as a soft rider for Mom and the kids over here.

The favourite 4x4 at this moment is the Toyota Fortuner, and the double cab LDV (bakkie singular and bakkies plural) commonly named in SA meaning Load area, tub or bowl.

The big guns only buy Land Cruisers and in this class the smaller Prado. The big Nissan is hardly seen in our country, as well as in Africa. Over here Toyota seems to be the King. I am not sure for how long because of all the bad publicity and the call backs.

Dries

Congratulations to the chrome beast and to you also jalal and this most excellent site..My own x-trail clicked over 6 1/2 years and 150,000ks on the weekend and i celebrated by giving it a oil and filter change and then driving up to mount Baw Baw (victoria)which is not far from where i live on monday and i had to dodge two sambar deer that were walking down the road and a few lyrebirds, that did impress my friends who came along for the ride.cheers and long live bling and the x-trail that has given me so much pleasure.RAY
