Anyone organising a basic off road trip on 11th /12th December?

Evening!
Just a little bit bored thinking that I dont have much to do over this weekend, I was hoping if any experienced/enthusiastic X-trailer is wanting to do any basic /easy/medium track this weekend?

This is a request for members around brisbane area!

I have not organised a trip before, but can quickly type/edit this post as per req rules if this does get going.

I am hoping for

a. Easy/Medium Track.
b. Trip leader=someone who can guide and take me/us around a decent track if they are themselves bored at home.
c. I have seen this old thread, and wouldnt mind doing it again

http://www.runboard.com/baustralianxtrail.f2.t123727

Extremely short notice, but I thought I would give it a go and may be there are more people like me who are looking for some outings but aren't finding any thing organised.

Fingers crossed :P

Please familiarise yourself with fourm rules which can be found here:

Re: Anyone organising a basic off road trip on 11th /12th December?

If you want a trip you can do without others (always more fun tho with others), you can always head up to Maleny, out towards Kenilworth and either do a loop from Little Yabba Creek back to Little Yabba Creek, or continue out towards Jimna and come back to Brisbane thru Kilcoy.

The turnoffs for loop roads are about 500metres apart on the Maleny Kenilworth Road at little Yabba Creek. The first turn off is before the creek and goes past several picnic areas with some good swimming holes & rainforest walks, then climbs steeply with a good lookout. Eventually you get to a T intersection. There you can turn right and come back to Little Yabba Creek via Charlie Moreland Drive. Or you can turn left and head up towards Jimna. When you get to the Jimna road you can either turn right out to Jimna, or turn left and go back to Kilcoy. From Kilcoy you can go back to Brisbane via Esk. I've been out those roads several times about 6-8 years ago, and they were always easy non-threatening driving, if you are out on your own and not used to the dirt. A few small creek crossings, but probably not much water at this time of year.

Hava good weekend. emoticon

Hi xtrailxtrail

Have you been reading my mind, huh?

How would you like to take a trip up to Bribie Island (and do a bit of beach driving) on Sunday (tomorrow)? I've been wanting to get back up there now for a while (even bought an annual beach permit .... 10 months ago emoticon ) and tomorrow I am free.

I'm not exactly sure where you are located, but a good meeting point is either the Shell servo at Nudgee or further up the highway at Burpegary (I think it is a BP servo ... with Maccas).

PM me if this fits in with your plans.

emoticon and thanks for the motivational post emoticon emoticon

Sorry about the delay,

My exy has gone back to the dealers for the next few days and I have a Micra (which I think would not impress them to take it up Black hut road) emoticon .

I could have the exy back next week-end thou and would love to show you Black hut road for some not so gentle run emoticon .

Have sent you a pm!

Regards Scot

Hey Steve, me and the family are up for a cruise tomorrow, a beach bash sounds good.

Pm or text the details, and I will check early tomorrow morning, that its still on.

We were heading out about 8 tomorrow morning, for a drive to Sunny Coast, so Bribie will be sweet.

Hope to catch yas tomorrow.

Cheers,
Dave
