Royal National Park un-gated track...

I've been out to Bundeena a couple of times in the last couple of weeks for work, and noticed this track leading off the main road... Does anyone know where it goes and if it's allowable to drive along? There is a little mound at the entrance to it (and probably to high to get over in the work van emoticon ), but no gate as with all the other fire trails... I know it's probably not a good idea to go "roaming" around a National Park anyway emoticon

Basic rule of thumb is if it doesn't have a gate the track probably doesn't go more than 100m or so to nowhere.

Looking closer at the google map image, I'd say it only goes a few meters if that.

Re: Royal National Park un-gated track...

They usually dump a load of soil at the entrance to stop vehicles entering, its a lot cheaper that having and maintaining a gate.
They have alot of these down Menai way.

As for where it goes, there is only one way to find out.

Re: Royal National Park un-gated track...

Well next time I'm down that way I might just have to have a "rest stop" by the side of the road, and hope the van makes it over the mound emoticon

BTW the mound looks much different in the google image than what it does now, as it's more like a "V" shape where bikes have flattened the centre of it emoticon
