Translucidus - did you need to purchase an adapter from the T31 to the stereo?

Hi Samuel,

It's called the ISO adapter and if you don't want to cut wires you would need to buy one for sure. Autobarn sells them.

Hey Jalal - I think he meant to the 8 track player emoticon emoticon emoticon

I don't think ISO format was even invented back then emoticon emoticon emoticon

Dead easy instal; Red wire shoved in any tube fuse, earth by a PK Screw to car firewall and 2 speakers sitting on the back parcel shelf with wiring partially hidden/partially visible emoticon .

Re: "Kitchen Sink" GPS review

Ok photos and video not great but here we go

Stereo in EXY
Image

As you can see it doesn't sit perfectly flush but not bad considering it is th standard mounting bracket
Image

I decided to put the GPS antenna up through the drivers side Glove box, and upto the middle of the dash rather than hide it, and I get PERFECT signal. It is mounted with some double sided tape (Yes I know dodgy)
Image

And hid the TV antenna in the top Passenger side Glove box
Image

also A video of it running in the car, sorry about quality, it was taken on my phone

Thanks Stuart,

Looks cool, but isn't the monitor motorized to open and close fully or do you have to keep pressing that button to open it and close it fully in stages?

Re: "Kitchen Sink" GPS review

Guys,

Anyone installed these double-DIN units on a T31 that has steering controls and blue-tooth steering control? Are they compatible?

Re: "Kitchen Sink" GPS review

Mines only an ST so no steering wheel controls to try on but in one of the emails regarding specs etc I got, it says on 2 different models to the one I got that they do. All these units have slight differences so I would definatly check with the seller.

From the reseach I did on the 6.2' units available, things I would definatly want when spending about $600 are the ability to run two programs at once (eg gps and radio), 533mhz/128mb cpu (the one I got is a samsung CPU), and a 800x480HD screen resolution. For $400 you may get one of these features.

If you are willing to spend more there is a premium model available that is not advertised for about $1300 that is very comparable to what you would pay over $2500 for in a name brand. Over the unit I have, it has phone book function on bluetooth, slightly better GPS processor, better Ipod compatibility, X2 speed usb and a few other small differences. None of these features are that important to me to justify the extra dollars but if anyone is interested I have the info/pic on that model buried somewhere.
