Re: Series II T31 X-Trail
Had alook at the series 2 at Gestapo HQ today and noticed a couple of interesting things.
This was the TS and TL models.
1. The glovebox has aquired 2 more storage compartments, one at the top and one on the lid near the hinge.
2. The radio has an AUX input and now has a different configuration of buttons.
3. There is some stupid looking 'XTRONIC CVT' badge on the rear tailgate on all CVT models.
4. The touch screen radio doesn't quite fit neatly into its slot, it looks laike it was made to fit if you get my drift.

Re: Series II T31 X-Trail
Well at least it will be easy to spot the CVT models, so when you upgrade you can stay away from them.

Re: Series II T31 X-Trail
Hi Guys,
After seeing the Series II T31 in the flesh when one of our members dropped by early this week by my place, I can tell you the following:
1. The DVD/GPS Navigation System is made by Eclipse I believe it is THIS model and can be purchased from China as well.
2. The 18" alloys does suit the T31 really well and the tyres fill the wheel well perfectly. There is still plenty of rubber to use these tyres for sand/beach driving but I wouldn't take them off-road.
3. I'm not sure about the Series I T31, but the Series II has the rear middle head-rest slotted inside the back of the seats and can be raised by a pull clip so it doesn't block your view when reversing.
4. The function of the reversing camera is excellent and it certainly solves the problem of hearing those annoying beeps many T31 owners have complained about due to the low height design of the rear bumper.

Yes Jalal
The series 1 centre headrest slides up and down as well.

Have they fixed the rear sand scoop/bumper design flaw?
Cheers

Apart from putting an inch bigger rims pulling the scoop, no!

That would be considered a "shape" change and there is no way they gonna do that

Re: Series II T31 X-Trail
Hmm I'm at a conundrum. To upgrade to the new T31 Series II Diesel manual or not to. I do like the new additions to the latest model and am considering the fuel economy for the long hauls around the NT plus diesel torque for towing. About the scoop issue, has anyone figured out a work around i.e. Sikaflex lining the rear panel or something to that extent ? The pricing for the latest model with the works is quite attractive, sort of around the same amount as my Exy cost back in its day. I saw one of the latest TS models with the CVT badge on its rear panel and it looked quite fetching in the large rims. The addition of privacy glass also made it impossible to see in the back on a sunny day which I thought was a cool idea especially up here in the high UV belt around the Top End.
Hmm decisions decisions ...

Re: Series II T31 X-Trail
Andrew,
THIS thread is what you are after.
Alternatively, search for Eclipse suppliers in China.
