posticon Series II T31 X-Trail

Hi Guys,

As per a couple of recent posts on our forum talking about the Series II T31 X-Trail, I can now confirm that Nissan dealers did indeed receive a bulletin about it from Nissan Australia and I was told the following so far:

BIG IMPROVEMENTS!!!

I am in the process of obtaining further details today and will post them here as they come to hand.

P.S. Nissan have kept this under the radar due to the big sale (end of year sale) they're currently running on the remaining stock of T31s they currently have, as the Series II will be launched in December/January time-frame.

Here is the text version of the dealers bulletin:

20 October, 2009 Bulletin No: 200/09
X-TRAIL MY10 Running Change spec and pricing announcement

Further to National Dealer Bulletin 176/09, it is with great pleasure that we are able to
present to you specification and pricing for the X-TRAIL MY10 Running Change. Arriving
into Australian ports in mid-late November, and officially on sale 1 December, 2009,
changes have been focused around firstly streamlining the grade walk and secondly,
strengthening X-TRAIL's competitive position by introducing specification upgrades across
the range, read on for all the detail of this upgrade.

Specification upgrades

ST grades

Starting with ST grades, the objective has been to maintain the competitive pricing position
that we have currently, so there will be no price changes for ST grades. ST grades receive
an auxiliary MP3 player input jack, which plugs into the front dash audio unit, and new full
black front dash, as shown below. Please note, this is the same dash as you find on the
current X-TRAIL Adventure Edition.

TS grades

TS diesel updates also have the key objective of not moving away from a competitive price
point, so we have again not changed the price from where it currently sits today. TS
grades receive the new black dash interior, an auxiliary MP3 player input jack, privacy
glass (from B pilar back) and handsfree Bluetooth connectivity controlled via the steering
wheel controls.

ST-L grades

One of the biggest stories in this X-TRAIL upgrade is the change to the ST-L grades. In
order to maximise the competitiveness of the ST-L grades, we have added a significant
amount of content, including:
• Full leather interior as you currently find on the Ti and TL grades
• Electrically adjustable front seats
• Heated front seats
• New black front dash interior
• Privacy glass
• Auxiliary MP3 player input jack
• Steering wheel mounted audio controls
• Handsfree Bluetooth connectivity controlled via the steering wheel controls

Further good news is that the price will only increase by $1,000 on the manual and auto
ST-L grades, which represents fantastic value, considering the approximate $3,000 worth
of content that has been added.

Taking a closer look at competitors reveals that the addition of this specification makes the
X-TRAIL ST-L grade very competitive, revealing several USP's.
Advantages vs:
• Mitsubishi Outlander 2.4 XLS auto ($40,490):
o Leather seats
o Heated electrically adjustable front seats
• Toyota RAV4 2.4 Cruiser manual ($38,290):
o Leather seats
o Heated electrically adjustable front seats
o Bluetooth
• Honda CRV 2.4 Sport auto ($42,290):
o Leather seats
o Heated electrically adjustable front seats
o Leather steering wheel
o Bluetooth
• Subaru Forester XS Premium manual ($37,990):
o Heated electrically adjustable front seats
o Bluetooth

Ti and TL grades

The next big story in this X-TRAIL upgrade comes on the Ti and TL grades. Exterior
upgrades include the addition of privacy glass and very stylish all new 18" alloy wheels.

The story continues with interior upgrades, which include a Satellite Navigation unit with 7"
colour display featuring a touch screen.

This unit has significant functionality, including:
• iPod connectivity via USB, allowing users to control their iPod on the 7" colour
display using the touch screen. Please note, the iPod is stored in the coin box
below the unit and above the air conditioning controls.
• Handsfree Bluetooth connectivity controlled via the 7" colour touch screen display
• Suna Traffic Monitoring system - a constant feed of data is sent to the Sat Nav unit
to assist in planning the best route and redirect you away from traffic jams and
other such incidents.
• Reversing camera
• DVD compatibility
• Single CD player
• Steering wheel mounted audio controls on Ti model (TL already has this feature)

To align the walk and support the increased specification levels, both Ti and TL grades will
increase in price by only $2,000, which also represents a minimal walk based on the level
of specification that has been added.

As you can see, there have been significant improvements to the Ti/Tl, grades, allowing us
to maintain a number of competitive advantages over closest competitors.

Advantages vs:
• Toyota RAV4 2.4 Cruiser L manual ($43,290):
o Satellite Navigation with Suna Traffic Monitoring system
o iPod connectivity
o Bluetooth .-
o 18" alloy wheels
o Reversing camera
o Electrically adjustable front seats
DVD compatibility
• Honda CRY 2.4 Luxury auto ($44,790):
o Satellite Navigation with Suna Traffic Monitoring system
o iPod connectivity
o Bluetooth
o 18" alloy wheels
o Reversing camera
o Electrically adjustable front seats
o DVD compatibility
• Subaru Forester XT Premium manual ($44,990):
o 18" alloy wheels
o iPod connectivity
o Heated electrically adjustable front seats

Please note there will be no changes to the current X-TRAIL colour range, and all current
specification you find on the X-TRAIL range will remain except for the Ti reversing sensors
(which are no longer required as there is a reversing camera), as well as all grades now
have a 16" steel spare wheel, and the cigarette astray and lighter has been removed.

Also note that for the first month of production arrivals in November that MY10 Ti stock has
been delayed by one month due to production scheduling, meaning MY10 Ti stock will be
arriving in mid-late December.

Updated brochures will be available for you to order via the online system from mid-late
November, and colour and trim boards and specification stand inserts will be sent out to
you before December 1. The updated website will go live on December 1, 2009.

Please note that all current incentives on MY09 stock will hold until the final unit is sold.

I am sure you will all agree that the specification upgrades presented in this bulletin, and
on sale from December 1, 2009 have competitively repositioned X-TRAIL to both
streamline the walk through the grades and enhance the unique competitiveness of both
the TifTL and ST-L grades. With unique features such as leather seats with heated and
electrically adjustable front seats and Bluetooth on the ST-L grade, as well as the stylish
18" alloys wheels and Satellite Navigation, full iPod connectivity, Bluetooth and Suna
Traffic Monitoring on the TifTL grades, the X-TRAIL line-up is stronger than it ever has
been and adds further support to the Nissan Brand story of:

• Performance - petrol and diesel options, All Mode 4x4-i, CVT transmission
• Design - new 18" alloy wheels on TifTL grades
• Innovation - Bluetooth connectivity on all grades but ST, play your iPod across
the entire X-TRAIL range and technologically advanced features on the TifTL
grades including Satellite Navigation with Suna Traffic Monitoring and full iPod
connectivity via touch screen.
