NSW X-MAS Outing in November

Hi Guys,

As it is the tradition every year, I am starting this thread to gauge the level of interest and participation in a NSW based Xmas outing in November, as I am sure most of us will be busy in December and January.

This year I thought that we should have a big event and not the standard BBQ meet-up we do every year, as such I am proposing a camping trip (Friday and Saturday night or Saturday and Sunday nights)

I am open to suggestions regarding locations and dates.

The trip will have an element of gathering as a community in a camp area, but it will also include off-roading for those who want to do that too. Those who don't want to participate in an off-road event can go bush walking or exploring the area with other groups or stay on camp.

All families and friends are invited. Kids are most welcome too!

****Important disclaimer, please read the event rules before coming on this trip. They can be viewed HERE

IMPORTANT
All participants on this run are to have signed off on the new trip rules as posted HERE before being allowed to attend this trip.

Re: NSW X-MAS Outing in November

Would be a good idea to have it at Stockton Beach/Hunter Valley weekend (suggested by Dennis). There is a caravan park close at Anna Bay called Birubi Beach Holiday Park. That way we have the beach or the valley option. emoticon

Re: NSW X-MAS Outing in November

It is a good suggestion Wendy but I wasn't looking forward to spending Xmas and New Year holidays cleaning my car from the mountain of sand its gonna get after a trip to Stockton, hence why I didn't merge this thread with the Stockton trip Dennis is proposing emoticon

Having said that and if the Stockton Trip proves to be a popular suggestion for November then I will cancell this one and you guys will be able to have a forum Xmas party as part of that event. I don't think we can squeeze in 2 camping trips in November and with the holiday season coming and everyone going in different directions the outings will stop until late January.

I'll leave it to you guys (members) to decide.

Re: NSW X-MAS Outing in November

Good idea Wendy.
That way, the Saturday could be the beach for those who want to and the Sunday could be the bush for anyone who wants to or those who do not want to do the beach on Saturday.
As it is a camping get-together trip then the option of two different days would suit and people could stay for which days they wanted to participate in.

The Birubi site is good because they have cabins, powered ensuite campsites with non-shared toilets/showers and unpowered campsites too.

Re: NSW X-MAS Outing in November

The name of that caravan park sounded familiar to me and sure enough, myself, Dennis & Val, Rich, Shane and another CRV owner did stay there back in 2005 as part of a trip to Stockton (trip report HERE)

Yes, it is a nice caravan park indeed and we stayed in the Cabins and they have BBQ, camp kitchen and swimming pool facilities too.

Details HERE

THIS EVENT HAS NOW BEEN MERGED WITH THE EXISTING PROPOSED TRIP TO STOCKTON BEACH HERE

It will also be used as the NSW-Based X-Mas Party/Gathering.
