I had a genuine nissan towbar installed when I bought my 2008 Xtrail Ti and the dealer installed a 7 pin round socket. It wasn't until I started towing my boat and camper trailer that I realised that the reverse parking sensors constantly beep when reversing. I had the 20000km service recently (took me ages to try and do something about it) and was advised by Nissan that it had the wrong plug attached... You've got to ask why a nissan dealer would install a round socket when they knew that it wouldn't disable the sensors?????... Anyway, I have bought a Narva 7 pin flat socket (82044BL) with a reed switch which when connected it should disable the sensors. I have no problems connecting up the wiring for the trailer but I'm having difficulty finding the wiring for the sensors which need to be connected to the reed switch inputs on the socket?
I was going to have a whinge to Nissan about it because they mucked it up in the first place, but honetly I couldn't be bothered. Once I find the wiring for the sensors it should connect up ok and disable the sensors when the trailer is connected.

Re: T31 Reverse parking sensor wiring As Far as I know, all of the genuine Nissan fitted reverse sensors can be disabled by turning the beeper off when you're towing something. The beeper is located in the boot area (I think on top of one of the rear shocks, so you just have to remove the shocks plastic cover to get to the beeper) If not there, then try the floor area of the boot.
