Major downtime
Hi Guys,
Those of you who were noticing our forum being down in the last couple of days with a "Godaddy" page being displayed instead of our board are advised that it was NOT a hack.
Runboard is currently being moved to a new hosting server that would address a number of issues we're experiencing (slowness, page load time and the need to refresh the page as it doesn't always get through).
There was a major outage last night the lasted for 4 hours while this move happened, so things are coming back slowly now.
If you do experience problems, please let me know.

Re: Major downtime
Server migration currently taking place where existing Runboard servers are being migrated to the new host, it has nothing to do with our own servers which are still working fine and the main site wasn't affected.
Moving to another forum provider/package is not an option as we will loose all data that has been collected here over the 5 year period.

Re: Major downtime
Dear Members,
The Runboard owner has just confirmed that due to technical issues, Runboard is still running a few servers short compared to the number of active servers before the move to the new host, the daily back-up was causing the few active servers to get overloaded, hence the extended 5 hour outage that happened in the last 2 nights.
He did some tweaking today to prevent that from happening again. He'll also be keeping a close eye on things during backups just in case, so he can quickly catch and fix any problem that may arise before the permanent solution is in place next week.
In short, the backups are safe, and we shouldn't experience any more problems like we had the last two days.
As I mentioned previously, we do have our own LIVE CHAT service if the forum goes down, which we can use and it is the best option for those who would like to find out about what is happening.
It is a good idea to bookmark the link to the LIVE CHAT service in case our forum is off-air and you can't access the link through the forum.
I was on the Live Chat all last night and not a single member logged-in.

Re: Major downtime
Hi Guys,
I have now added a direct link to the LIVE Chat Room in the forum directory page which can be accessed through our Main Site HERE
Should the forum go down for an extended period of time for any reason, you will be able to click on the "Forum" menu option on the main site and access the chat service through there.
