Hi Ben,

If you click on the MyNissan icon on the top section of the forum page, it will take you to the Nissan Capped Price servicing cost table. The 40K service cost for your petrol exy is $513.72

That is what you will be paying for your standard service and you will need to get a quote for anything extra.

Thanks Jalal, I didn't actually realise the icons linked to anything.

I'm not actually sure whether my 2010 XTrail falls under the "Nissan Capped Price Servicing". Does it apply to all, how would I find out?

Cheers,
Ben

Full Terms & Conditions can be seen HERE

You can make sure it applies to you by calling the dealership you're visiting and asking for the price upfront.

What happens after 120k?
Does it turn into a free for all or is there some sort of reasonable cost structure?

Has anyone gone over the 120k mark, if so how were the costs?

After the 120k service it reverts to the 10k service.

ie. 130,000 is same as 10,000km
140,000 is same as 20,000km and so on...

Every 40k service is a major service.

Can anyone tell me why Renault Koleos has a capped price service at $199.00 and the Xtrail is so much more expensive when they are the same vehicle in a different suit. My 40k service was over $700 for a diesel auto and now they want $301 for the 50K

Did this get an answer? The poor fella kinda got shut down before he even started. Curious to know if anyone had any experience with this.

We are not sure what Renault Koleos variant he was comparing it with and what service interval he was talking about but in any case information about the Nissan Capped Servicing is provided in this thread and we can't force Nissan to follow the pricing structure of any other manufacturer. Each have their own pricing regardless of engine similarities.

Re:

Has anyone had their capped price servicing change price?

I'm booked in for my 80,000km service and the girl at the Nepean Group booking office said that it was going to be $809.80, but my capped price servicing sheet I received when I purchased the car says 775.76. They promote the cost will never change, peace of mind blah blah. No where does it say on the sheet, prices subject to change.

When I questioned her, she said because the cost of oil went up. Don't they make allowances for that in their pricing anyway?

Just curious before I stand up to them come servicing day about it. FYI mine is diesel. Thanks!

Re:

Actually, the new capped price has been in effect since April 2014 and you can download the latest capped pricing sheet from HERE

An increase of around $34 is not unreasonable given everything else has increased in price and the drop value Aussie Dollar which makes imported spare parts more expensive.

Also, the capped pricing sheet clearly states the following:

quote:

Capped Prices effective from 1st April 2014.
Actual prices may vary from Dealer to Dealer, but rest assured you will not pay more than the Capped Price applicable at the
time of your Scheduled Service. Contact your local Nissan Dealer for a service quote. Capped Prices are subject to change.

Re:

I guess you could say with confidence that if prices are subject to change, then it isn't really capped price servicing, is it? Just a somewhat crude play on words!
In case that some folk here have not noticed, the price of oil has halved in the last year or so. they (dealers)shouldn't use the price of oil as an excuse to increase servicing costs.
