Re: Hi-Tech Cat. Back System (T31 Manual Diesel)

Unfortunately damaged my muffler the other day in a minor bingle so needs to be replaced under insurance. Luckily living in Bathurst have easy access to Hi Tech so will be replacing entire system with a single cat back on Friday.

Will be interesting to see how much improvement in power and fuel economy there is.

I've noticed a few comments on here about ECU reset - is this something that is required with the new system or optional?

Re: Hi-Tech Cat. Back System (T31 Manual Diesel)

To really get the most out of it in the shortest time you should do the ECU reset as it puts all the fuel trims back to factory and allows the ECU to start relearning the new airflow characteristics quicker.

Re: Hi-Tech Cat. Back System (T31 Manual Diesel)

What has happened to the DPF?
Has it been removed how did the computer system react to this, what changes had to be made is this what the ECU reset clears?
Does it still work?
Was it on in the first place or a model without the clean diesel stuff?

Thanks Andy

Re: Hi-Tech Cat. Back System (T31 Manual Diesel)

It's all in the first post of this thread Andy ...

After careful consideration and seeing that the T31 diesel xtrail has a DPF located in the engine bay followed by a cat converter under the car (which has stainless steel core I should add) and also due to the hi power and torque output of the T31 diesel as it is right from the factory, we decided that doing a full exhaust system for the diesel is not a good idea, given the different sensors that are in operation which might cause problems to owners.

The decision was made to proceed with the design of the cat. back system and offer it in more than just one style and combination.
