There is a street in Sydney called "Oxford Street" that is an interesting place to get stuck in peak hour traffic. Sydney also seems to have a distinct lack of BP service stations.

King St Newtown is another. As for BP service stations - the ones I can think of tend to be across the road from each other emoticon Sydney CBD has no service stations! Probably the nearest servo is Shell, which is just around the corner from Oxford St, and there's another servo (that might be a BP?) on the other side of the road when you're heading towards Bondi Junction.

Just thought I'd check to see if a mate can come along in his 4WD (not an X-Trail). I know there's been no issues with non-X-Trailers attending in the past, but just thought I'd mention it in case the new forum trip rules may have incorporated this aspect (but not that I recall).

He's welcome Rich.

Andrew, There is a BP station across the road from my place, so you'll see it tomorrow emoticon

Stop doubting the mighty Rich. He'll be there...

I will meet you guys on the other side of the train line at Blackheath (if we are still heading there)

Jalal, any chance of you stopping of at the information centre at Blackheath on your way through to HiTech to see if there is any information or maps on the Megalong Valley 4wd trails.

Hi Brett,

The meet-up point is at the Glennbrook Info. Centre, so am not sure how close is that to the Blackheath train line or is that the same suburb as Glennbrook?

I have to stop at the information centre on the way back from Bathurst (depends on the time as well), as I'll be passing it at 5:30am next week on my way to Hi-Tech and I don't think they'll be open at that time emoticon

No probs mate. I have managed to track down some 1:25k digital maps of the area, so hopefully I can upload them beforehand.

It is about 30 minute drive on the highway from Glenbrook to Blackheath (roughly)...

Brett, if it's the same mapset as my 1:25k, then the map # is 89301S_Katoomba.

Sent you a private email before I read your post about meeting everyone at Blackheath emoticon

Guys,

Please don't confuse everyone in this thread. If you decided to change the meet-up point to the one posted on page 1, I would like to know that, as it may confuse everyone else as to where we're exactly meeting-up at 10:00am.

If it's only the 2 of you that wish to meet-up at Blackheath, please arrange it by PM but also let me know, so we don't end-up waiting for you at Glenbrook.

Re: Dronus (Andrew) NSW Visit (Trip Confirmed 15/8/2009)

No worries Jalal. I was intending to let you know once we'd sorted it out, because my mate is somewhere midway between the two locations, and Clare & Josh are staying there for the day, so we've just got a little bit of thinking to do beforehand to make sure Brett gets to see Clare & Josh, without any of us leaving the group for too long...

Whereis says it's an hour from Glenbrook to Blackheath! Brett, we know you wouldn't be in the X-Trail to be able to do it in half an hour emoticon And what about the never-ending construction zones...

Noel is in Sydney ... cool.
It would be great to meet him as I have been wondering when I would do a trip to Cairns to say "hi".
