Lancruiser Mountain Park 26th July 2009
6am and the alarm goes off - good start to the day seeing as how it is Sunday. Oh yeah, that's right we're going for a drive.
Made our way to the BP northbound on the Bruce Highway, filled up with fuel, food and drinks and waited for Kev (Chilli05) to call and was then introduced to some of his mates that were joining us for the trip. Rob (Robot95) joined us and intro's all round again.
Kev laid out the rules, radio check and off we went in a convoy headed to Woodford. Met up with Stephen (Loafer) and he joined in the convoy and we continued up to Kilcoy where we were to meet up with Kev (Warrlord). After a comfort break and a chit chat, and a chance to show off the forum we made our way to the Park.
Registration and sign in all taken care of we headed off up the track.
After a few easy tracks and a few moderate/hard rocky tracks we ended stopping for lunch.
After lunch we made our way to The Pig Pen (a big mud pit area).
A few Xtrailers decided we wanted to change the colour of our cars so we jumped in head first and did some mud runs while the Suzuki Sierra went for a deep splash and a full stop right in the middle of the run. He was dragged out and pulled the bungs to empty the passenger area of water and then dried up the engine bay.
The bulk of the group took off to the camp area to use the toilets and Kev, Stephen and I did a couple more runs and joined them.
A bit of a chinwag and show off and away we went again looking for Telecom Hill.
First side looked too bad so we went round the other side and the Pajeros had a go and made it up so the Sierra made a run but got stuck half way up because of a bit too much bounce. A long tow strap attached from the top with the Pajero solved the problem. (I did not get any pics of this sorry)
That being the end of the day we made our way back to the office and signed out, pumped the tyres up and made our way home.
On the way home ended up with a flat so got back home at 7.30, quick pizza, trip to the Gold Coast and an hour washing the car, back home and in bed by 11pm
What a day.
Great to meet the bunch from the off road club and hope to catch up again someday for another trip.
Thanks for organising the day Kev and anyone else who wants to add their pics and vids if anyone got any, feel free.

Looks like you guys had some fun in the mud.
Wish we had somewhere like that in NSW.

Re: Lancruiser Mountain Park 26th July 2009
Onca again, another fantastic outing; & terrific foto's; great to see all the Exys doing what they are made to do.
It never ceases to amaze me, what these mighty machines are able to do.
Robot, dont worry toooo much about losing your tariler plug, I think if you have a look under the rear, of most forum Exy's, you will find they have been replaced by their owners.

Re: Lancruiser Mountain Park 26th July 2009
Many thanks to Kelvin (chilli5) for organising such a GREAT day out! Landcruiser Park ROCKS!
I had to head up to Woodford first (to return hired camper trailer) and was met by this thick fog, before joining the convoy as it passed through town.
Stopping briefly at Kilcoy (to await Warrlord's arrival), we were also greeted by a local journo (presumably orgainsed by Kevin) and took the opportunity to get a clean pic of the four xtrails.
We then all headed off up into the hills to the property (a working cattle station), registered at the office and set to deflating our tyres.
(hey Kev, where'd you get those pants )
And then it was onward and upward along steep and rocky trails
After watching the little (and gutsy) Sierra go for a splash, Jamie went to check out the depth of this puddle
... but after careful deliberation, it was (wisely) decided that he would not venture into it (the entry point was rather steep and the middle section a tad too deep for BlackThunda)
More pics to come ...

Re: Lancruiser Mountain Park 26th July 2009
LOL that last pick where you're testing for depth made me laugh, I'd never ever risk doing that up here in the Territory what with all those sneaky crocodiles everywhere, I always bypass wet bogs up here wherever possible just to be safe. But overall it looks like you guys had a ripper time. Great photos !!
