I'll go hunting for the battery box or alarm box. Regards Mike. You should have an overide key to disable the alarm siren, usually it should be done before changing the battery  Hi Rich, all the T31 petrol models don't have the alarm as standard, only the diesel models have it. My exy has upgrade alarm system installed after the delivery.nondisclosed_email@example.com (xtrailist)Fri, 24 Jul 2009 21:58:35 +0000 Re: Changing car battery initiates car alarm.https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2030855,from=rss#post2030855https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2030855,from=rss#post2030855Hey Mike, It sounds like your X-Trail has an after-market alarm, but then, I'm not familiar with the T31's to know if they come with an alarm, or just central-locking (like the T30 does). After-market alarms have a battery-backup built-in to the siren under the bonnet, so when you disconnect the alarm from power by either cutting the wires, pulling it's fuse, or disconnecting the battery (I think even if the alarm is disarmed) then it will activate the siren. There should be a round key barrel on the siren which you use to turn the siren off. nondisclosed_email@example.com (basshead)Fri, 24 Jul 2009 19:00:28 +0000 Changing car battery initiates car alarm.https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2030846,from=rss#post2030846https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2030846,from=rss#post2030846Hi everyone, tried changing batteries on the X-Trail and started the car alarm ringing in my garage.
