Suspension Commonality with other Nissans
Hi all,
As we all know that the Murano and some other Nissan rims fit our Xtrail.
But does anyone know if our suspension struts shares a comonality / interchangability with other Nissan performance models ?
Wondering if coil-overs from other Nissans would fit our Xtrail.

Re: Suspension Commonality with other Nissans
i think im going to like this post hahah. i think that fella on the forum that used to own the black xtrail GT said he had tein coil overs that were to suit an s15 200sx but slightly modified fitted. i would LOVE coil overs if anyone can track down the right/suitable parts.

Re: Suspension Commonality with other Nissans
There are plenty of good xtrail specific coil-overs on the market but I think Kev wants to save a bit money by trying to retro-fit from other Nissan's

Re: Suspension Commonality with other Nissans
Yes Cam, these companies or most of them make coilovers for the xtrail but the most commonly used 2 brands that are very popular and received good reports are the Hotbits and Daiyama.

may i enquire are to your exy's lack of suspension mods?
The simple and short answer is that I don't believe in such a mod, or more precisely, I do not think my xtrail needs it as I said previously, it is a naturally lowered exy that hasn't impacted its off-road drive-ability.

Re: Suspension Commonality with other Nissans
"if it aint broke, dont fix it"
i like your thinking.
i on the other hand, have the desire for some cool suspension tuning, after dealing with race cars, i can see the x-trail has HEAPS of potential, handling wise. greater spring rates all round, some adjustable dampers and cambers, and some tricky testing, i think our exys will transform.
thats said, i agree, for a big car it handles well from stock...
