02-06 Subaru WRX injectors - direct fit + perfect for turbo
Hey guys, just thought id share some info.
i received my WRX injectors today.
bought them off a guy from NASIOC (north american subaru impreza owners club), wanting upgrades. the car had 30k miles on it.
they are top feed ~440cc (argued by many to flow more - a test will confirm this) high impedance ones. they are a direct fitment into our fuel rail, use around about the same pressure (WRXs use about 49psi as opposed to 51 for the exys) and even the wiring clips are the same.
they even came with the o-rings, which again, fit into our fuel rail
heres some pics:
im gonna get them cleaned and tested later this week, by United Fuel Injection in redcliffe.
ill post up the results, and im expecting them to be fine.
stock injectors flow 330cc per minute, so its a 33% increase.
from what the sentra guys have found, they max out at around 10-12 psi and 300-340whp.
which is plenty for my set-up.
keep posted for test results...

Re: 02-06 Subaru WRX injectors - direct fit + perfect for turbo
Hey Tony...
yeh the blues max out on our motor on about 10 psi or 300whp - according to the Sentra guys in the US. i think in our motor the blues would hold a bit more power cos the QRs have a bit higher fuel pressure than WRXs...
I havn't had my laptop plugged in looking at duty cycle, havnt configured a monitor on the Stinger (engine computer), ive just been looking at water temp, boost and such...
besides ive been too busy sorting out this cable throttle im putting in - instead of our fly-by-wire, its getting the flick
good to know the pinks are a decent upgrade too!
were the pinks a direct fit into the fuel rails? i.e. did you need any different o-rings or spacers??
if im nearing 80% duty cycle i might look into an upgrade, but with my 240whp at the moment, my tuner didnt mention they were anywhere near maxing out.
330hp wouldve been pretty fun! that's a solid number!
the pinks are 560cc arent they? around about when (hp) do they max out???
Cam.

Re: 02-06 Subaru WRX injectors - direct fit + perfect for turbo
Installing bigger injectors wont give you more power directly mate. Best thing I'd suggest for you to do is get an exhaust made up, especially the dump. My exhaust is a 3" and would be perfect for a great power bump. Other than that, I'd say add some more boost,
RE your tuning device: I personally wouldn't trust it to properly tune for more power. I' be ditching that system and going for a stand alone. I'd recommend talking to a tuner and seeing what they suggest for an engine computer. The interceptor method you have running probably wouldn't be too accurate and doesn't have any adjustment for ignition timing, which is VERY important if your running more boost.
I don't know for certain, cos GT X-Trails are so rare and not many people have ventured into modifying them, but i'd say the injectors would be close to 100% duty cycle at about 300-330 hp i.e. 20-50hp increase over stock...
Also in regards to my PM, the stock turbo would probably run out of flow at about 350hp too.
so full exhaust upgrade first, then think about getting an engine computer installed then you can safely add more boost (not to mention a s hit load more power!) At this point I'd seriously be looking at ditching that top mount intercooler and going for a FMIC (front mount), there's plenty of room in the T30 front bumper for a decent sized 'cooler...
