i want to do the exact same thing, my dash fachia, auto shifter surround and door handle inserts around the power window switches. they are goldy silver and i would prefer silver or black.
im going to lightly wet and dry all the surfaces carefully, prepsol, spray with the right paint, another very light sand and a few coats of tough clear.
maybe in a few months when it warms up though.
