Check your keys,T31

G/Day All,
Nearly lost my key which seperated from the remote head the other day whilst i was out fishing.

There is a small screw which holds it in place that has fallen out at some point.

Checked the other key and it was allso very loose.

Would pay to check yours out just in case.

Re: Check your keys,T31

Funny(?), I noticed one of the screws was missing from one of my keys only the other day. Does it require a genuine Nissan screw? And if so, a warranty issue?

Found it missing in 1 key, so I used the other. When I went in to get it serviced I used the one with the screw missing. It came back with a screw in it for no charge.
They may have thought they lost it :P

Lucky you "Scarey 77" - I went to the Spare Parts section, and asked for a replacement screw - $3.50!

Re:

It appears that this is a common fault. We have taken to leaving a pair of pliers in the door pocket as Jo's key gets stuck and separates leaving the key in the barrel. Both of our keys have lost the screw so I think this is more a design fault and should just be replaced by Nissan with a drop of light duty locktite!

I found a small screw in a toy that was being thrown out the sort of fitted so mine no longer comes out. Will have to get Jo to take her key into Nissan and ask for a replacement...on warranty of course :P

Re: Check your keys,T31

How about possibly adding a little 'lock-tight' to keep the screw from self-loosening?
