Re: *Updated* Second SA X-Trail Meetup (Saturday 24th October, 2009)

Hi all, I probably can't make the entire trip as we have a wedding to get to late afternoon, but I will possibly be able to meet up at the Whispering Wall & say hello.

You can't actually drive thru Para Wirra to get to Williamstown, but you can turn right before the main gate & drive round the edge of the park. Most of this road has now been bitumenised. There is a couple of kms of dirt in the middle then some more bitumen down the hill then it turns to dirt again just after crossing the South Para River.

Hope to see you Saturday, will tune in to ch 10.

Just thought, the car is filthy, will have to call into the carwash tomorrow so I'm not too embarrassed to show it off. (can't do too much about the dings tho' ) emoticon

No worries Dave, see you there. Yep that road around the outside was the one i was thinking of, if you take the first right after turning left off one tree hill road, and go up the hill a bit there is another road which bypasses some of the bitumen, some nice looking properties down there too. That eventually comes out on Yettie road. Its a bugger they bituminised that road, especially the bit near the creek crossing, that used to be fun!
I need to find the time to visit the HR4WD club too get involved in some of their trips etc..

We will meet at Carisbrook park main nth rd [just past Newspot Suzuki] 11-11.30 for a meet and greet with photo op.
Then travel to the Whispering wall arriving at about 12.30-1.00 for another photo op with Wacky 53 and any one else that missed the first part.
Then the option is to take a run through Mt Crawford forest and or the Barosa valley [winery's mmmm LOL].
