posticon Roof Racks

Can anyone tell me the best Rola roof racks for a 2007 T30. Don't know which ones to choose. I want to put a Rola vortex tray up there, so the racks will need to fit one of those.

I want it to be able to hold up to about 70 or 80Kg.

Does anyone have Rola racks? Do they take up the whole mounting point in the rail, or am I going to get wind noise as mentioned by some others?

I'm also after the best price for this gear, so if anyone can reccomend a retailer, I would be most happy.

Thanks

Re: Roof Racks

The best rack is actually a Rhino and there should be an announcement here in a day or two regarding member pricing

Well, I'm sure all the different brands have their merits. But looking forward to hearing what the deal with Rhino is, i'm in the market for roof racks

Re: Roof Racks

Hey,

I went through this exercise a year ago for my T31.

My requirements:

- Looks
- Roof rack should be compatible with accessories from other brands and vice versa. This depends on the fitting kit.
- Load Rating Rhino 70KG or Rola 80KG
- Lockable

I ended up with Rola Xtreme Sports bar. The same one should be available for t30. The Rola was able to fit my Rhino accessories, but Rhino may not be able to fit Rola accessories.

Do they take up the whole mounting point in the rail [Yes, the colour does not exactly match, hardly notice it],

or am I going to get wind noise as mentioned by some others? [Cant hear mine, but fuel consumption when up especially when I have stuff loaded]

Re: Roof Racks

Not wishing to drag the thread off topic to far but all I'll say is I've been working with roof bars since 1995 and have sold the 3 major brands. 1 I have an issue with their price but they do fit some vehicles that the other 2 don't. One I refuse to carry as I've had more than one warranty claim that was unresolved and the third I have seen grow from a small business to a multi national company. However not everybody like their product. If everybody liked the best that was available how would we poke fun and the Land Cruiser drivers.....

Re: Roof Racks

I've ended up getting the Rola Sports Extreme bars. Got them for a pretty good price at 15% off the RRP.
Will install them tonite and post how they go.
I feel Rola have all the accessories I am after.
Thanks for all your replies

Re: Roof Racks

Hi Allan,

My Rhino heavy duty aero bars arrived yesterday (Monday) and I have installed them tonight - all good!!

There was more to installing them than I expected (took me an hour and a half!) but it all went well and happy with the look.

Will post a pic when I get a chance

Thanks Allan for offering forum members such a good discount.

Cheers,

Byron
