live fuel economy gauge

hey guys,

trying to find a gauge that tells you your live fuel economy as you drive.
ive seen the T31s have the trip computer, but im not after a full on car computer/trip computer/data logger, just to get the economy readings.

im looking for something like a boost gauge or voltage meter, that sort of design.

does anyone know of a gauge that does such?
ive found a few on ebay and such, but they only show 3 regions (poor, good, and poor) and not actual readings in l/100kms or the like.

im real interested in this, just a case of figuring something out.

perhaps a custom job is in order...

besides im not relli willing to pay <200 dollars for something that i can potentially get for less than 100.

also that only shows in MPG, which is not very useful unless i carry a calculator around and do calculation while im driving haha emoticon
id much prefer l/100km.

what would such a gauge involve?
im guessing it would tap into the signal wires for the injectors and mix that signal with RPM or something???

Re: live fuel economy gauge

The way I read that website, the guage can be set to L/100kms. Has anyone purchased and fitted one of these yet ?

Cam,

Read a bit more about it and what settings can be adjusted and the way it's fitted before you judge it it mate.

Having said that, a calculator will always be the cheaper option of course.
