They may help stop the dogs putting their nose out the passenger windows and also to help prevent smudges on the rear quarter windows. Should be good to stop bugs getting in as well. http://www.palmautomotive.co.uk/4trucks/acatalog/Nissan_X_-Trail_04-07_SideStyling_4x4_Accessories_.html I am planning on getting some myself, so will report back once fitted. I'll keep my eyes and ears open and wait to see if anything becomes available over here.   nondisclosed_email@example.com (loafer)Mon, 06 Apr 2009 21:03:49 +0000 Re: Boot/Cargo Windowshttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2026423,from=rss#post2026423https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2026423,from=rss#post2026423Stephen, They're available in the UK and I have only seen them for the T30, so am not sure if they make them for the T31. It is wide enough to cover the width of the exy A pretty smart way of fitting it as well with no drilling required as explained HEREnondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Mon, 06 Apr 2009 19:57:27 +0000 Re: Boot/Cargo Windowshttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2025751,from=rss#post2025751https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2025751,from=rss#post2025751Hi Samuel, Have a similar issue with my lab. It is as if the Cargo barrier needs to be a bit wider near the back windows. My dog wants to get through as well, but I keep the windows closed and point the rear air vent up to the roof so as the cool air blows into the rear cargo area. This seems to calm her down a bit. Let me know if you have any ideas as i may take them up myself. I will have to try and get some covers to try and make the leather less appealing. As already mentioned it was just a thought- appreciate all your thoughts/opinions Samuel nondisclosed_email@example.com (Mr Xtrail)Fri, 13 Mar 2009 13:19:50 +0000 Re: Boot/Cargo Windowshttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2025101,from=rss#post2025101https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2025101,from=rss#post2025101Hi Samuel I don't think you'll have a problem with the dog. Any way you already have that rubber mat on the floor. I recommend you put the dog it the back and just wait and see what he does firstly. You never know, he might just lie down and go to sleep, then you don't have to worry about a thing. As Jalal said, a cargo barrier and open rear windows will help as well. the only thing you will have to worry about then is nose smudges on the windows. nondisclosed_email@example.com (cooch t31)Wed, 11 Mar 2009 05:13:20 +0000 Re: Boot/Cargo Windowshttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2025090,from=rss#post2025090https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2025090,from=rss#post2025090Would putting some car seats on the rear seats fix the problem? I am not sure how can he fit through the cargo barrier into the back seats??nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Tue, 10 Mar 2009 17:38:07 +0000 Re: Boot/Cargo Windowshttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2025071,from=rss#post2025071https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2025071,from=rss#post2025071Jalal its just a thought at this stage. If you had the inlets coming out somewhere near the spare wheel bubble (facing forward so the air is forced in when driving) it should be enough for the dogs. Could be a rather inexpensive DIY mod if your handy like that. Gotto be much cheaper then breaking the window. Things to consider: You would need some sort of baffling to stop water rushing up there if yopu did a creek crossing at speed. You would need a filter to stop dust filling the car. 2nd thought, maybe you could get slots cut into the window and a vent put in the side windows????? nondisclosed_email@example.com (BlackThunda)Tue, 10 Mar 2009 13:46:12 +0000 Re: Boot/Cargo Windowshttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2025067,from=rss#post2025067https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2025067,from=rss#post2025067As much as I like this idea, I don't think it's possible to achieve without breaking the rear quarter windows and smashing them totally, as they're glued in place and can not be removed. Not sure about you, but I wouldn't go smashing windows on my brand new exy nondisclosed_email@example.com (jalalski)Tue, 10 Mar 2009 13:21:09 +0000 Re: Boot/Cargo Windowshttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2025065,from=rss#post2025065https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2025065,from=rss#post2025065no can do - I wont be able to open the sunroof if I do thatnondisclosed_email@example.com (Mr Xtrail)Tue, 10 Mar 2009 13:09:48 +0000 Re: Boot/Cargo Windowshttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2024935,from=rss#post2024935https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2024935,from=rss#post2024935could always go for a spinny vent on the roof like on the back of a dibbie vannondisclosed_email@example.com (skaed)Sun, 08 Mar 2009 18:14:42 +0000 Boot/Cargo Windowshttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2024822,from=rss#post2024822https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2024822,from=rss#post2024822I was just wondering if anyone has changed/thinking of changing their boot/cargo side windows. I was thinking of changing the windows so that they push out to open and pull in to close - like the old minis rear windows. Firstly could this be done? secondly Is it legal? & thirdly if the first two question are both yes, where to go? Would appreciate your thoughts on this. Samuel p/s the reason for this is to get some air in the back for the dog as he is currently putting his head through the cargo barrier to get to the back window and I dont want there to be an "accident" with the leather seats!nondisclosed_email@example.com (Mr Xtrail)Fri, 06 Mar 2009 06:58:14 +0000
