BOSE sound system

While on a recent adventure trying to find the tail lights fuse (it turns out its in the other fuse box, in the engine bay) i noticed on the fuse bay cover something marked "Bose System"

I wonder if this is for an optional BOSE sound system? Or is there something else called a bose in car language. I can take a pic if required.

Andrew,

I think the Bose sound system is an option overseas with the T31s that came with in-dash navigation and DVD playback capabilities.

Re: BOSE sound system

Ohh ok cool vid. I thought the nav system that came with the x-trail went on top of the dash, where the pocket is. Looks like its an integrated gps/dvd/radio system, unless the one in the video is an after market pioneer unit.

The dealer advised me against getting the Nissan Sat Nav when i bought mine.. said its not good quality and is hard to update the maps. He suggested saving the money and buying a tomtom or garmin.

Im not that happy with my stereo, i might look into a good quality system, like the Bose, or a Pioneer etc.

Re: BOSE sound system

Hi Dronus

I am thinking of replacing the standard door speakers with quality Pioneer/Kenwood two or three way units. I think for most purposes the best sound will be achieved by doing this and ensuring the head unit has sufficient power -50W RMS is loud enough unless you want to qualify for the doof-doof category. I am not a Bose fan for either home or car audio - overpriced and name only - the Japanese decks (mostly made in China) are pretty good.

Re: BOSE sound system

I'm not particularly happy with the sound from my stereo either (T31 6 stacker). Whilst I agree that the speakers could probably be upgraded, i think that the head unit is the problem. As you turn it up it seemd to automatically cut the bass out (to protect from distortion, no doubt) which sounds terrible.

Would be nice if there was something else available that would still work with the steering wheel controls...
