Re: Aftermarket headers - 2nd O2 sensor hole coverup

Since you are removing the stock headers with cat, what form of flex joint are you going to use with the new setup ?

Our east-west engine rocks back & forth quite a bit so you will need one to allow for this movement. If you need a guide, I can post a pic of the flex joint used in the Hi-Tech system, which I am sure Jalal won't mind.

Re: Aftermarket headers - 2nd O2 sensor hole coverup

Like I said, my friend is taking control of everything and im pretty sure he mentioned something about 'allow for engine movement' when i was talking to him the other day...

I've still got a good 2 weeks until they arrive, the paypal cheque just cleared yesterday so best cast scenario, their being sent today/tomorrow, so theres still heaps of time to iron out the smaller logistical problems.

All this information is openly available in the Hi-Tech thread Kev, so there is no need for duplication here.

Re: Aftermarket headers - 2nd O2 sensor hole coverup

Have you ended up with any "check engine" lights after this changing the extractors and cat at all Cam?
Wondering how the exhaust wrap and O2 sensor are going together after a few weeks of flogging emoticon

Re: Aftermarket headers - 2nd O2 sensor hole coverup

everything is still running a dream mate thanks for askin!
the only check engine light ive had was when i installed my bypass valve, i forgot to put the maf sensor back on! i was sooo annyoed haha

the exhaust wrap hasnt budged still covering everything. its sorta turned a brown/black colour from the heat but thats normal.

O2 sensor is fine! under bonnet heat is still nice and contained, cant believe the lack thereof!

the only problem ive had is that i went 4wding the other day, and i bottomed out over a rock (big rock, more of a boulder) and of all the things it could hit under my car, it hit the exhuast, and pushed it up, so for a few days it was rubbing on the heat shield and making a funny noise.
but i got under there and used a bit of brute force and bent it down, hasnt made a noise since!

thanks for the enquiry!

Cam.
