It has been a long time between drinks, so to speak. I just hope you 'city guys' have packed a jacket. It is only expected to hit a top of 25 in Oberon today, but the weather can change by the hour. Looks like a nice little turn-out, with 5 exys fronting to add another 'meet-up' on the NSW calender. GO THE BLUES !!!!nondisclosed_email@example.com (BRETT72)Sun, 25 Jan 2009 07:18:31 +0000 Re: Oberon meet-up : Sunday 25th Janhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2022786,from=rss#post2022786https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2022786,from=rss#post2022786OK Guys, I'll be on my way in about 30 minutes, got the release note and the green light this morning LOL I'll be coming solo as the family is going to the beach today. Just checked the weather and Oberon will have a top of 27, which is just right. I have the exy packed and we are keen as, to have a nice day out. We won't be playing in the rough stuff though, the wife's back is playing up. Anyone pack the cricket set. At this stage it is being discussed as the wife has mentioned it would be nice to just have BBQ get-togethers sometimes instead of 4WD trips only. If we come out for Sunday lunch then we will probably stay at a motel somewhere out there and drive back Monday. I'll confirm Sat night with a post if we will be there or not.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Revhead Kev)Thu, 22 Jan 2009 13:21:46 +0000 Re: Oberon meet-up : Sunday 25th Janhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2022579,from=rss#post2022579https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2022579,from=rss#post2022579From memory it's sealed all the way. There is a "side track" I took out of there one time, which I might try again. It comes out at one of the town's dead-end back streets, but wasn't too difficult to find our way back to the main road, being a small town. Just over 1hr from the Blue Mountains and about 2.5hrs from Bankstown Sydney, the Mountains members really have no excuse (apart from Tony of course - I've been doing abit of neglected household chores lately myself, although it is abit hot to be painting timber window frames these days! ). Looking forward to seeing Brett and whoever else shows up! We'll likely be there from 10:30 as Clare would like to get Josh back to bed at about 1pm, but I reckon we wont be able to get him off the play equipment! nondisclosed_email@example.com (basshead)Thu, 22 Jan 2009 06:42:51 +0000 Re: Oberon meet-up : Sunday 25th Janhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2022538,from=rss#post2022538https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2022538,from=rss#post2022538quote:BRETT72 wrote:  A nice way to celebrate Australia Day, 1 day early. A retaining wall for starters, poured the footings this afternoon and hope to start laying some blocks on the w/end. I'm sick of my front yard looking like a costruction site. As the saying goes, 'the builders' house is never finished but always finds time to build for other people'. nondisclosed_email@example.com (cooch t31)Wed, 21 Jan 2009 20:08:25 +0000 Re: Oberon meet-up : Sunday 25th Janhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2022529,from=rss#post2022529https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2022529,from=rss#post2022529Come on guys. I was just thinking I might create a thread in the off chance some of the western-Sydney/Blue Mountains members might want to join us, and you beat me to it All welcome! There's play equipment for the kiddies to hurt themselves on and BBQ & toilet facilities. BYO food & drinks. Not sure what shops would be open on a Sunday, but there are two service stations if you need cold drinks. There is also the local supermarket, but like I mentioned - not sure if they'd be open. Just follow the sign on the main (Oberon St) road through town. It's on the left if you're coming from Sydney direction. I'd offer my mobile via PM, but we don't have reception out on the property until we get almost all the way back into town. nondisclosed_email@example.com (basshead)Tue, 20 Jan 2009 20:22:29 +0000 Oberon meet-up : Sunday 25th Janhttps://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2022436,from=rss#post2022436https://baustralianxtrail.runboard.com/p2022436,from=rss#post2022436Hey guys.  Myself and Rich (basshead) are meeting at Oberon Lake for lunch on Sunday 25th January.
