Re: Maxtrax
quote: What do the "experienced" drivers think?
Stephen
The best thing do to is not get yourself into the situation, but thats not always possible.
If your travelling with mates, the snatch strap should be the first thing you try, providing there is enough room for another viehicle. A turfor winch is awesome but a little too bulky to carry in the back.
If you do get your exy bellied down in sand or mud, the best thing to do is stop digging the car any deeper than you already have. Then chock under all driving wheels with anything you can find, whether it be Maxtrax or similar, branches, rocks, sticks, anything.
This may not work the first time but with persarverance you will get out.
If this fails, then my friend get the shovel out. You will probably only need to dig out along the side of the Exy, I mean its highly unlikely that the Exy ( or any 4wd) will get bogged level.
All methods will work well.
Its better to try the easiest (less labour intensive) method first and then use other methods.
I mean, who likes digging anyway!
It all boils down to experience and that only comes by getting bogged and working out how to get out.
Hope this helps.
