Re: T31 LED Door Kick Plates

Hi Andrew,

I chose the blue to go with the color of the exy.

If you do decide to go with these ,I know you will not be disappointed as they look very smart.

update here are a couple of shots of the led kick plateImage

If you have any questions feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer.

Heya Scot,

They look very cool! Im thinking about going with the orange ones with my Platnum colour; ive cleaned my door sills just incase emoticon

Did you wire them to the switch for the doors? I look forward to seeing how it was wired up etc.

Re: T31 LED Door Kick Plates

Jalal has all the instructions for fitment.

The door switch would have been tricky as with my model I have the side airbags and you should see the wiring that runs there and so many wires earthed in that spot.

It is very easy and wiring them to the back interior lights worked out very easy to do.

The orange should suit your exy well and they do stand out even in bright daylight as photo;s do not show the plates justice.

I have orange at the front and blue for the rear emoticon

Andrew saw the orange ones at the front of my exy, so am gonna show him the blue LED light next time he comes around and print a copy of the instructions for him too emoticon

Very easy to fit mate, just like the T30 version (if not easier)

Re: T31 LED Door Kick Plates

Just wondering if anyone has fitted these to an ST T31? The ST only has the centre dome light not the small ones above the door pillars. Looks like I may have to pull off more trim on the door pillars to get the wiring down to the sills.

Re: T31 LED Door Kick Plates

Barney,

For an ST T31 it would be the same as the ST T30 model where the wiring will go through the centre pillars and join the centre dome light.

Actually the wires run very nicely behind the rubber seal that sits over the pillar trims!

Just tuck it in behind that and no other trim has to come off.

For your center light, just pop it out and then using a stiff piece of wire with the wiring you are going to use for the led scuff plates feed it from the center hole to the outer edge of the roof lining and pry the edge down so slightly and then grab the ends and pull thru!

Hope this helps you!

Re: T31 LED Door Kick Plates

Barney,
I have an ST and ran them directly to the door switch. That way each light only comes on when the corresponding door opens.
I ran a positive wire from the battery and connected all the kickplates with each other.
The negative wire I connected to the door switch.
It works a treat and all you have to remove is the kick plates, centre pillar plastic and swing up the back seat to run the positive wire to the other side to do it.

Re: T31 LED Door Kick Plates

Thanks Tony, good to know there is an option if I have trouble getting the wiring down from the centre light. I am trying to get this done before my wife gets back from Europe to surorise her, looks like I will have an extra few days thanks to the volcano.
