2010 New Shape Nissan Patrol

Nissan will launch the new shape Nissan Patrol sometime next year and HERE is what it'll look like.

Looks a bit like a Lexus from the back.

Nope, don't like it.
Having had 3 Patrols, G60- 1976, MK - 1984 and Y60-1997, the new one looks "soft".

The only thing that I like is the V8 under the hood, maybe that will fix the "high range slug" only Patrol owners know about.

Re: 2010 New Shape Nissan Patrol

Have to say I agree.

Looks very much more "European" and far less "Outback". Might sell more of them to the European luxury 4WD crowd who use them for the school run but certainly don't look as rugged as the previous models. Looks aren't everything of course, and they may be helped with a healthy dose of aftermarket off road goodies......perhaps. V8 sounds good and will likely help sales against the LC here, assuming it's as capable off the black top as the current models.

The styling looks a lot softer than the current model. I bet there will be a hefty price hike just like the 200 series landcruiser. A new Renault - Nissan aliance 3 litre V6 diesel engine is rumoured to be an option for the Patrol.

It looks like a breed of something gone wrong.
Do not like the look of it at all.

If you look at it closely it kinda resembles a T31, a fat one.
The rear quarter windows, the rolled front bumper, the door skins.
I think the rear looks like that of a Renault Megane, butt ugly LOL.

I personally do not like the direction as far as the styling is heading. No side body moulds is a no-no and is my pet hate of the T31. Those plastic strips are a carpark door ding saver and as long as they are colour coded they dont look too bad either!

RATEDX
You can order the body moulds through Nissan.
I have seen a couple of Exys in my area getting around with them and to be honest, they better without them on.
Maybe if they were painted they will look better.

Re: 2010 New Shape Nissan Patrol

Must agree with most , Ive owned a G60 ,MQ patrol 2door ,MQ patrol ute with hydro tilt tray etc , a GQ wagon and looking at this new one makes me think that its only for the bitumen . To me it just dosnt look like the 4x4 you want to take off road and do some serious 4 wheeling .
The v8 will be attractive to large boat owners and caravans for towing etc .
Glad I went the way I did in getting my Xtrail. Dont have to worry about those things anymore ...
