Re: T31 extra brake/tail lights

Hi Dronus
The top one is a breather for the light, and to remove heat hence being at the top. If you take the cap off there is a steelwool type material and beneath that is a hole.

The other hole (recessed) is what you would think to put the globe holder but DON'T. If you do the holder will hit the body of the car when you re assemble the tail light.
The new globe should be fitted to the round part of the plastic so when fitted, the holder and globe points up.

Have fun

Re: T31 extra brake/tail lights

Still havnt had a chance to do it - yes i know im lazy - but i have a list of excuses.. number 1 being its too hot! and im flat out getting the other car ready for the bay to birdwood - not enough hours in the day!

it will happen, and it will be awesome.. either that or someone will invent pure LED tail light assemblies for the T31 and i will buy them.. hahaha

Hey Alan
Great to hear.
Are you going to use LED bulbs? If so let me know how many LED's in the fitting so I can do the same. (as discussed at the end of the Discovery trail at Blackheath).

Re: T31 extra brake/tail lights

Well its done - today I had to fit the 3rd reversing camera for the cheap Chinese kitchen sink audio unit so I decided to bite the bullet and whilst the trim was off fit the LED heads for the tail light conversion.

After much discussion we decided to go with the steady burn option over the flashing option.

Step 1 Locate the position of the mounting hole (25mm dia)

Step 2 Drill hole

Step 3 Mount LED light head

Step 4 Test

Step 5 Remount Lights

Re: T31 extra brake/tail lights

Andrew,
There are a couple of small clips that hold the light on as well, just pull outwards and they should let go fairly easily.
