Re: T31 Tailgate Rubbing on rear bumper

This time I posted on the Nissan X-Trail Australia Facebook page. ps. using my wifes Facebook account.

I haven't visited the Facebook page before as we only created a Facebook account today.

Just about choked when I read that Nissan appreciated it being brought to their attention a few months prior to December 2011 considering they were notified 2 years prior.

A report containing all the external and internal photos that demonstrate the problem has now been sent via email to Nissan CSC.

Is the CSC "Customer Service Centre" ?

Called Hayman and Reece today and they said they have had no time to follow this up and not sure when they will get around to it!

It maybe done tomorrow but not sure!

Sounds like I was fobbed off!

Re: T31 Tailgate Rubbing on rear bumper

Johker/John,
When you reported it did you report it to the manufacturer,Nissan Australia and obtain a reference number, Or did you just report it to the person who sold it to you the dealer?
I ask as this is an important distinction in the sales environment and dealing with customer complaints.
If everyone with a Problem reports it to Nissan Aust and obtains a reference number then they have a record of it, and most companies have a process to deal with reported and documented issues within a set time frame.
I'm still trying to get the time to take my car to the spray painter to match the replacement bumper to my car coulor, so that they can replace and refit the bumper to my 5 month old car.

Re:

Hi,

Up until this week all my communication has been with the Nissan dealer at which I purchased the vehicle in October 2009. When I called the Nissan Australia Service number they told me that all problem reports had to be via a Nissan Dealer.

Jalal suggested sending an email to the Nissan Service Centre including all the information we have gathered including pictures which I have now done. As of this evening I have received what I believe to be an automated response indicating I should receive a response in 2 business days.

I haven't received any reference number at this stage but am aware that my original report was entered into the Nissan Technical system as when I phoned the Nissan Customer Service number the person I spoke to asked for my vehicle registration and told me she could see the photos (as originally posted on this forum).

If you still have your towbar fitted has it been modified enough to stop the rubbing?

As you can see from the internal "snake camera" pictures the bumper hits the towbar at the mounting brackets and also where the reversing lights are located. From what I can see the towbar can't be moved any higher due to the 4 top bumper clips so will require some kind of modification.

Scott is also communicating with Hayman Reese as his towbar was fitted by them.

As per my above post not getting anything from them at all at this point!

I wonder how many people we could get together to do a class action against Nissan about this issue!

Regards Scot

Re: T31 Tailgate Rubbing on rear bumper

My towball is still fitted,
My dealer has modified my bumper to the Nissan fix.
My bumper is still mis aligned on the right hand side but no longer rubbing on bumper.
My dealer has had authorization from Nissan to replace my bumper.

If you would like to do a class action you will require a lot of people, Plus those people will need a CSC complaint number that can be quoted in court to show how wide spread the fault is.

I would suggest a website set up with the aim of explaining the fault and people being able to register for the class action and to keep a list of the Nissan CSC complaint numbers.
Once the site is up and running also organise a card that can be printed and handed out to other owners with same problem that are unaware of this issue.

Don't think this matter deserves a class action to be honest.
