2008 Toperi Challenge - 29/30th November.

Hi guys,

Just letting you know about an off-road event my local 4wd club is running out at Orange. It is very similar to the Woodpecker or Tuff Truck Challenge, which involves extremely modified fourbies, attempting to drive rediculous challenges. It looks like this event will be replacing the famous 'Woodpecker', so it should be a real challenge.

You can camp over the weekend or just drop in for the day. Cost is $10.
Saturday kicks off at 1pm, with 2 stages being run - 1 at night.
Sunday starts earlier, with a 1pm finish for presentation afterwards.

Information can be found here: TOPERI CHALLENGE

I will be going both days, would be great to see other members out there. The park is situated about 12km west of Orange, near the township of Borenore. Same place the Australian Field Days are held.

Sounds like a lot of fun Brett!

Unfortunately we won't get the chance to make it down there, but are looking forward to see any photos & vids that (hopefully) you'll be posting (?). emoticon

Although there is minimal (lets say no) chance that an xtrail will be competing, I will seek permission from the moderators to post pics. emoticon

Fair enough you're not entering your X-Trail, but is there any chance you're entering your X-Trail's "big daddy" (Patrol) into the comp? emoticon

I think NOT !!!
Just went out and checked some of the tracks out, with a few vehicles trying them out. Most of these trucks are highly modified and chopped GU's and Rangies, with exo-rollbars, V8 engines and massive 35" tyres. Sort of puts my little GU to shame. emoticon

Hey guys.

Thought you might like some pics from the first stage of Toperi. The course was a lot more challenging then some competitors thought, with several busted diffs, shafts and other panel damage being the norm.

Congrats the Canobolas 4wd guys (and girls) for an excellent run event. Let's hope we see it back again next year.

Couldn't make it to the rest of the stages, as work got in the way. Next year, I will definitely stay the weekend.

Gday Brett
I went to the 2008 Tuff Truck event in Singleton earlier this and like Toperi, it was awesome. I reckognized all of of the trucks in your pics.
Its definetly worth going to one of these events, especially the above mentioned, just to see what these things can do.
I won 2 tickets for the Tuff Truck event thru 4WDtv, but still, worth every cent of $50 bucks each.
