Hi Rob and Deb,

Maybe all Queenslanders can find a certain spot to meet up and travel in a convoy together to get to the meet.

Would love to join a whole fleet of exys cruising along with lights blazing.

Looking forward to this one!

I think this (convoy idea) would be the best way to do it for all states given the distance to Alice Springs, I can only imagine the news helicopter transmitting images of an xtrail invasion of Alice Springs from all parts of Australia. hahahahaha emoticon

Be on the look out we are going to invade lol.

Maybe we can meet up with all the N.S.W,Act,Vic as well if you travel through this way .

Wow what a sight to be hold.

Jalal, what about little plastic flags with the X_trail forum emblem on them to put on where ever on the car that would really give the forum a free plug.

I would love to come along, but I am giving away my neice at her wedding in Townsville on the 26th September and we intend to spend some time in the Gulf.

Good luck with the plans...

Re: A National X-Trail Get Together

If there aren't enough for a ring around Ayers Rock you could spell out X-TRAIL with cars nearby (or maybe NISSAN, a bit trickier) .
That would make one specky aerial shot that I'm sure Nissan marketing would love to get their hands on.
On a quick count you would probably need 24 cars as a mimimum.

I wish i could be a part of it but Sept/Oct is right in the midst of end of semester at uni
Either summer holidays or winter break (june/july) are really the only times i could possibly join the trek

And thats my 2 cents

Cheers,
Steve

Re: A National X-Trail Get Together

Hi folks.
Great Idea. Will take a bit of organising but a "committee" from each state/area is a good idea.Put us ( Val & Dennis ) down as participants & also willing to assist with organisation.
Broken Hill & Alice as suggested would be central to most capitals although 2/3000kms (?) away. Accommodation would need to be of various standards to suit everyones needs & budgets & is usually more expensive during school holiday periods. Almost any time of year & location is o.k. by us but the "wet" season /weather needs to be considered.
Perhaps mid/late september would be o.k.
How long would this " 2009 National Ex-Trail Expedition " be ?
I guess it depends where it's at & where everyone comes from.
Imagine the trip reports & photos.
A few things to consider would be accommodation, meals, fuel stops, trip route, social activities ,group discounts available, sponsorship, communications, safety, first aid, mechanical breakdowns, etc.

Re: A National X-Trail Get Together

Here is another thought for everyone.
What do you think about each state raising funds for their favorite charity or just make it the one charity for all like the royal flying doctor service etc.

Would like some thoughts on this?

Great idea about raising funds for charity Scot. I don't really mind which charity it is.
