Re: A National X-Trail Get Together
This sounds like a bit of a challenge, may be a bit hard to get a whole bunch of people in the same place / places at the same time but there may be options. For instance, I could stay at Mary Anne reserve in Mannum (SA) from Friday to Monday one weekend and take photos of every Exy that managed to call in, others could do the same in their states. There still would have been a "gathering of the clan" that could be documented here without everyone having to commit to a major trip, just tell the wife /husband we are going for a drive, stop off, get photo taken and keep going ( or stop for a beer ).
Any other ideas?

Re: A National X-Trail Get Together
The Jackaroo Clubs in NSW Victoria & SA have a get together each Easter, this year the Victorian are hosting it at Tolmie, next year's is at Tumut. The thing is the forum is nt like you average 4WD club, we have meetings on line up to several times a day...

Re: A National X-Trail Get Together
Why doesn't everone from their respective states meet up where they like and then do a webcam link up to every other state at a certain time.
Kind of a get together but in 7 parts (including Tassie).
Cause I can't see it happening any other way.

Re: A National X-Trail Get Together
I can't see this whole thing happening period.
If we can't even get enough interest to organise our own state event without everyone dropping out at the last minute, I can only imagine what would happen when people have to travel so far.
I think this will just remain a "dream"

Re: A National X-Trail Get Together
Thanks Tony - that's what I meant, and what I thought I said.
It doesn't matter where we meet up or how many groups/regions (even individuals), as long as the place at a certain time of day has broadband reception and at least someone has a computer capable of video phone or whatever the technology is these days (I'm getting a bit behind lately).
It shouldn't be any harder to arrange that any other weekend trip, obviously there will still be people who can't make a certain weekend. Some normal trips get arranged several months ahead anyway.
Guess we'll bounce it around for a while yet.

Re: A National X-Trail Get Together
I'm keen to get back up there and do some more touring given the number of tracks that are X-Trail friendly so I guess its up to the 2 of us to organise a time that suits us, invite everybody else and see what happens.
